Interesting but the "per half hour" thing is ****, no offence.

Per day, and resources gotten from there could only be used for enhancement of the colony, or changed to personal resources in a ratio 10:1 (10 colony Eezo = 1 "normal" Eezo) or higher.

As far as the exploit goes, perhaps there are ways to prevent it - Don't ask me how though, I am but a humble mage with grey beardness.

Do it per mission.

Didn't NWN2 have something similiar but with a castle fort instead?

Actually rather than having it as a colony of a point, why not just make it so that Shepard is doing this completely off the record. I.e. Recruitment and colonising of a planet in a system that hasn't been visited yet and that is off the record of the council and alliance.

Explain it as Shepard planning ahead for the protecting of civilization if he fails to combat the Reaper threat? Similiar to how the Protheans did it with their science team for the conduit? I don't know, I'm not up to speed on lore but it seems an ideal to me.

I don't mind either way to be honest, as long as it's done well but it's probs a bit late in production now.

Building a kickass offensive starbase would be neat indeed.

But tending to colonial's affairs would destroy the sense of urgency even more than the previous 2 games' sidequests did.

You hooked me in the first paragraph. I read the entire original post (probably the longest I've seen on any forum), and it was worth it. This is an absolutely golden idea, extremely well-developed and fleshed-out, and if BioWare doesn't take advantage of it for ME3, I hope they tuck it away for additions to future titles or DLC.

I love your idea. 

And to the argument about the "urgency" in the game; this could easily be something made available after the main story is completed.  I actually hope they add some side missions or cameos that are only there after you beat the game.

Truly a fantastic idea, you should send it as a DLC idea to the devs.



Also creating a major mission/ hub world would be fantastic. I've said in several threads (before seeing this one) that it would be cool if ME3 had something similar to Maggiore in AC2 (haven't played BH). Adding a city builder designer element to it would be cool too... you can choose where to place things... eg the space port, the industrial sector, the residential sector. Also choosing what they look like (eg architectural style... Asari? Krogan? Turian? Salarian? Volus? Elcor? etc)



Such a great idea.

Here is one thing that should be modified.

The first mission would end if an different way if the player did two missions before answering the call. That need to be clear in the first message he gets. Either introduce a timer/coutdown to the ship crashlanding or remove the other possible outcome.

I find it very confusing when you punish a player when he had no way of knowing he actually had to rush to do the mission. ME2 had the same problem with the crew kidnap moment. If you did one mission other than Legion recruit/loyalty, your entire crew would be transformed into space slushie for no reason at all.

I'd love to have this, even with the difficulties of pursuing your own agenda and keeping the colonist from dying off.
