Heh. That sword adds insult to injury. It is almost pulling a Gygax but not quite.

While that area itself is a prefab, I did change the lighting for it (and added the burning ship for instance). NWN2's lighting engine allows you to do some cool stuff. If you wanted to know what areas came from where, I will let you know. I used a mix of prefab (though I often altered lighting) and my own work.Haplose wrote...
I like the design of many areas, especially interiors (haven't seen many exteriors yet), a lot. I'm particularly impressed by the temples.
Yesterday I went through the ship crash site and... wow. That was a really beautifull use of lighting...

Congratulations. I wasn't sure anyone would be able to get that. That's the killer dungeon.

Lets just say many of the opponents in that dungeon remain undefeated.
I have now explored most of the areas. I am waiting on Bree until I can get rid of the Tortured King and I am just short of getting what I think is the final crown piece. Assuming there are a five parts counting the one you start with.

I've put the scripting into the conversation for the Ekkathys Guard Captain (right where you enter Ekkathys). Drop this into your campaign folder and talk to the Ekkathys Guard Captain. You'll have the option to dismiss the Tortured King while talking to the guard captain.

Let me know if that lets you dismiss him.

I tested again before trying your fix and the crashing still happens any time I try to dismiss him. Your fix works fine though. Thanks.kamal_ wrote...
I've looked into your report of crashing when dismissing the Tortured King. The scripting is stock scripts and firing in the same order as the other companions.

Just in case this helps with figuring out the problem, when I first encountered the Tortured King, his essence item was lying right beside him. I picked it up and can't drop it. He has the essence in his inventory as well.

I think you would be okay. It might mean that the obsessive exploring I did for fun might actually be necessary for you to level up.M. Rieder wrote...
Am I going to have my ass handed to me if I play a drow because of the level adjustment?
There are lots of lower level areas you can visit to build up xp once you get to the overland map. The first chapter may have a few fights that will be challenging with the level adjust but there are always options for not fighting fair, like copious use of traps.

Pretty much. You will have to do more exploring early on and be more tactical. Also you could pick up the second companion earlier than the game forces you to meet him. I had a number of people on the Vault who I know for sure are playing drow (they found a bug that could only happen for drow, since fixed). The arcane casters would be a bit easier, since they have less combat early on.Quixal wrote...

Should do OK if your drow isn't supposed to be a frontliner and you set Kvas and Tan to drop the d*mn bows and get to some real work.M. Rieder wrote...

My own character while not ECL-adjusted probably wasn't quite pulling his own weight, damage and resistance-wise in the first levels (warlock) but it worked out. Having the whole set of conversational skills maxed somewhere in the party helps at times too.
And while the campaign is advertised to lead to 14'ish level, my party is currently clocking at 17 with all the exploring I've done. Want my stronghold and can't find where it's supposed to be

So I'm still more or less down with a flu. It looks like it would be a good time to start some playing evil but before I download can I use one or two selfbuild chars (like in SoZ) in adition to my pc?
The companions you can find match your level but let you build them up from level one so depending on what you want it won't be necessary. Besides, some of them are quite interesting/fun/cool.

Yep. There is no place to call up the SoZ style character creation menu and build from scratch. However, there are a total of 11 possible companions that cover standard base classes.Quixal wrote...

When you recruit a companion, they are added at level 1 and then given your xp, so you can level them up as you please (multiclassing allowed). Many of them have stats suitable to multiclassing as well. The companions also have several thousand words of dialog each if you talk to them, and can give you options otherwise unavailable. They're also generally a little more powerful than a default character, having a larger stat point buy or extra feats.
Also I'm glad Quixal is enjoying them

After reading the most recent comment on the vault, I can't help but realize I and others have been pretty bad about spoilers. Should we start a spoiler topic? Or should be start PMing you with issues rather than posting here or on the vault. I can't help but think the information being out in the open somewhere would be the more useful option but 'tis your mod.

All golems in there are hostile from the get go while humans are not. From the humans' not batting a lid when "their" golems are being ground to dust under their noses, and the dialogue of some of them, it seems that the golems shouldn't be hostile and I'm probably missing on a quest there.
