I always play as the male version of Shepard, on all of my multitude of playthroughs across both Mass Effect 1 and 2.  I just do not play as female characters because often times I like to assume that I am the male protagonist.  And it most cases, the story is centered around the male perspective, and just placing the female role in place of the male role, just does not jive with me.  The default face for the female character just didn't capture any imagination for me.  So when I tried to play as a FemShep, I just could not get the face right, or something was off about the movements, and I couldn't even get through the Eden Prime prologue before I gave up.

So, maybe it was just out boredom, because I went back to Mass Effect and tried one more playthrough.  I literally spent nearly two hours just tinckering with the different settings and to see if I could get the face right.  I wrote down how many ticks I was at for each bar setting, began the opening sequence, reload and move a tick one way or another.

Finally, I found a face that was both pleasant and tough, but more importantly, believable.  All my other Shepards have the Earthborn / Sole Survivor pre-service history, but for my newly discovered FemShep, I chose Colonist / War Hero.

Ok... so the whole point of this post.......

So, now I have completed my first ever playthrough with Jane (yes I know, I am so original) and I have to hand it to all you guys... You were right.  The lines are delivered better.  The inflections are just spot on.  There was better chemistry between the characters, which is pretty cool considering, most of the VA is done separately.  It felt totally believable that Jane was the only hope for the galaxy.

And in case you wanted to know:  She was 98 / 2 Paragon.  She choose Kaiden, but ultimately, she had to leave him behind on Virmire in order to save Ashley and the Salarians.  Another heart break for her to endure...

So thanks FemSheps.  You may have converted me.  We shall see.  Now I have to import to ME2. ;)

Edit: Removed face code until I can figure out why it is generating the wrong face.

Edit: Spelling errors and MORE PICS!

I think the voice acting for femshep is better than for maleshep.

I'm really glad you were able to enjoy the game from another perspective.

Glad you liked the game as FemShep.

I'm currently going through the same experience as you, but in reverse playing ManShep for the first time. And I have to say, I am thoroughly enjoying ManShep too.

Thanks for sharing, SimplyNeo.  Your FemShep is beautiful and very realistic in appearance.
*waits for people to start whimpering over the fact that you've stated a preference* :whistle:

I definently feel that she does deliver the lines much better than the male shep counter part. i do enjoy some of the stuff by maleshep, but overall Hale did so amazingly.

@Crimm

If you are having difficulty getting of the ground with the creator. What I would recommend is dig up codes of a bunch of Sheps you like, test a few out and alternate as you go. By the time you are finished it you will have your own. Also the CC screen does not do justice. It is best to play through to when you first talk to Jacob and later Wilson.

@TC

Glad to see we have more support for Hale and Femshep. Personally I fancy both Hale and Meer but my preference is most definitely Hale. I have found she is more consistent and besides a powerful female character is an anomaly these days. It is always nice to see them in non fanservice roles.

I have to look around for my notes for the bar settings for ME1.

I think I remember seeing something that you could backtrack it using the ME2 facecode, but I have no idea what the site was.

Although, I understand why... man I miss that scar that I thought added so much character.

Yeah, I was pretty pissed that they get rid of the ME1 scar. I had given it a backstory and everything...

Thanks Bourne Endeavor and SimplyNeo. :)

Aww, you should have gone with the shoulder-length hair! She'd be much more awesome. Glad you like the power of femshep.

Glad you enjoyed playing as FemShep... I do FemShep plays almost exclusively because I can't get a male face to fit my concept. The polar opposite of your "problem".

Great job. A natural look that is hard to achieve. BTW the code attached is for a pre-set face, not your created face... could you post the correct one if it is not gone forever?

Lucy Lawless as inspiration? Kind of Xena-esque.

This is one of the default ME2 faces. Shepard imported from ME to ME2 doesn't have his own face code.

I'd like to suggest for new FemShep fans to move this discussion to the already created and active thread here:

ME1 faces in ME2 have same face code until you import finished ME2 playthrough with that face again then face code won't show up at all.
