I never play as femshep, ever. I just didnt see the appeal in playing as a female in ME1 or ME2 it just seems like your supposed to play as a male. But ive seen alot of talk about how the lines are better, and how it just feels more natural. What im asking is is this true? And if I were contemplating playing as femshep, what is the best romance? Which class seems the best fit for a femshep? I just want my playthrough, if I have one i want my playthrough the best

Thanks.

It is very much so and this is coming from a guy. I think Female was better than male.

At one point, I was in the same situation as you. I couldn't justify rolling up a female Shepard and giving her a shot because I kept thinking to myself "What's the point? It's the same darn thing, just a different voice!" Of course, I couldn't have been any more wrong.

I say go for it. It feels like a new game to choose a different gender than the one you usually choose for your Shepard. And playing as a female Shepard all of a sudden gives the galaxy more life. I don't know how; it's probably just her magic doing its thing. She's an absolutely fantastic protagonist all around. Paragon, Renegade, neutral -- all of it; all of it is win over win.

As to classes and romances, this is where it gets completely subjective. I guess you're the only one who can realistically answer those questions. So I'm just going to leave it at this. :)

EDIT: I'm a guy, by the way -- if that says anything.

Yes, it's the only Shepard I can play as, tbh.

The romance is up to you...you have a Thane avy so I assume you like him...give him a try.  'Best' romance is subjective, and you have Liara/Kaidan/Thane/Jacob/Garrus to choose from...or go for them all in different playthroughs and see which one you like best.

Playing as FemShep is very refreshing. There aren't many mediums out there that showcase a female in a strong, empowering, lead role.

Also, shameless plug of the FemShep thread since there seem to be so many FemShep related threads popping up recently. This is FemShep central. : )

It's definitely worth it. I prefer playing as a FemShep rather then a ManShep(I might be biased though considering I'm a girl). In my opinion I think that the voice acting is better with FemShep and I agree that she is good at doing anything(Paragon, Renegade, Neutral). For class, well I think any Shepard(male or female) will fit with any class, so whatever class you like the best then do it. For romances, there is no 'best' one. You can try to pick an LI that fits with your Shep morality or background wise. My favorite is Garrus, but like I said, there is no 'best' romance. I agree with a previous poster that you should try all the romances.

I'm a guy aswell maybe I was just being sexist i saw the final hope for the galaxy as a male idk why exactly.

And I think i will go for Thane "Prayers for the wicked must never be forsaken" always gets me, or Liara. And i think I'm leaning for sentinel a woman shouldnt be a soldier in my opinion, biotics and tech seem better suit for a female.

If you've tried Liara as a male Shepard before, perhaps you should go for someone else this time, because Liara's romance is almost exactly the same regardless of Shepard's gender. Thane is my personal favorite male love interest, followed by Kaidan.

It was worth it for me. I was ready to put ME1 on the shelf, because I didn't really connect with dudeShep. On a whim I tried femShep and loved it - she's been my only Shep going into ME2.

Err... You have started the thread 5 hours ago .

On topic: I don't feel Fem Shep is better than Male Shep (not talking about the voice acting). For me, I enjoyed both sides.

I much prefer male Shepard, especially because Meer is simply much better than Hale at playing the role of actual military Commander IMHO, and since I am a male, it is simple better experience for me; but playing as femShep is fun and I enjoyed it.

Try both romances...they are pretty good (though I prefer Liara myself).   A woman can be any class you want....I have one for all of them.

LOL, They both have Thane avatars, they must be the same person!

On topic: Yeah go for it. It really doesn't change the game that much, but it changes it enough for another playthrough. But you may not get the same connection with a femshep, i know i didn't. And i personally think Thane is the best romance (Liara's reserved for my maleshep). Garrus looks WAY too alien like for the romance to feel proper, and Jacob makes me lol.

I have only ever played as Male Shep but started a Fem Shep on ME2 yesterday and am enjoying it so far.

Not so sure about bothering with any of the 3 male romances. Right now Kelly is rather flirty though - but if you romance any of Jacob/Garrus/Thane I presume you can't get that ending with Kelly in the cabin?

Femshep suits any class.

Mine are Infiltrator, Sentinel and Adept.

I would try it, I felt weird intially playing as a female but they're both just as fun as each other. I don't get why such a fuss can be made over it sometimes. If you find some reason to not like it just stop playing, delete save. I don't see the harm in trying something once.

Voice actor, thats just preference I think they both do a fine job, however I prefer listening to Jennifer, more emotion in her voice, I find her lines are often said more realistically.

Best romance really you have to decide for yourself. I like Kaidan and Garrus but they're my favourite characters I haven't played through Thane's yet but I watched it, and the ending is nice.
My suggestion for ME1 would be to go for Kaidan I don't like Liara's romance at all, in ME2 Thane.

It's always nice to play as both genders. See how different the conversations play out. I use my femshep to test out the different classes. Adept is so coooooool XD

I wanted to voice my agreement with the notion that FemShep suits any class, because, for some reason, it's very true. I can't see my MaleShep to be anything other than Soldier, but my FemShep can be ANYTHING and she goes with it. Also, Adept FemShep is badass!

For some reason. I always see femshep as a vanguard, adept or engineer.

I like both Sheps though I've played a lot more the male one. As for the romance, both for male and female, Kelly's the best! Frak the rest! Check your cabin after the credits if you have a thing with her and avoided all the others!

My FemShep's original class is Adept, but as of ME2, I've retooled her to Infiltrator and Vanguard, both of which worked surprisingly well with her. I recently did a playthrough where I kept her class as Adept, too.
