ME1 = When using the Paragon answers during your last encounter with Saren, as he's trying to fight the indoctrination. At that moment I felt sorry for that character.

ME2 = By far, the revealing of the Normandy SR2. The music mixed in with the camera sweeps and lighting gave me chills.

Both of these are near the top of my list, but there's too many to name.

ME1: Pretty much the usual scenes already listed, but most especially Kirrahe's speech. Yes, it's a bit cliche, but up until that point in the game, I'd dismissed the Salarians as a bunch of hucksters and sleazy merchants. That moment, when I was first really introduced to the Salarian potential, with the listing of past achievements, and with the resolve with which they approached what they saw as a suicide mission, the Salarians earned my respect. I made sure in the coming fight to do my damnedest to offer support whenever I could (every time they said something over the radio, I was like "on it" and went to do what was necessary, and hell no, I didn't activate the alarms).

ME2: Tali's loyalty quest (so far, I've only done it with a female Shepard), especially every moment from coming across her father's body, which was just heartbreaking (and hell yes, I used the paragon interrupt) through the royal chewing out that I was able to give the admiralty board with the paragon choice to the final "Yes, captain."

Granted, I've only done 1 full play-through so far of ME2 (just bought it on sale on Steam) using a female Shepard carried over from ME1, so there may be scenes that I've missed out on or not yet experienced (just from a normal, unspoilered play through, I had all of my people survive the suicide mission).

Letting Miranda see her sister. How would you feel if you met your sister after everything you've done for her? The music also sells this scene as well.

ME1: Virmire, obviously. And Vigil gets me every time. Mostly, though, the last part when Shep limps out of the rubble. Man oh man.

ME2: The first time I tried Thane's loyalty mission, I was so worried about doing it right that I totally messed up. His reaction watching his son zoom off made me sad. Seeing Garrus again (that "GARRUS!!"... I love it), and Wrex calling me "friend". I loved him before, but he's basically my giant, reptile, badass teddy now.

ME1: virmire definatly, thought probably not for the reasons most nominate it. I like it because of the revalation about sovreign and the discussion that followed. Also, the broken Prothean recording you run into on Ilos, before vigil. The last bit of the recording echoes in the halls as you walk away.

CAN NOT BE STOPPED......CAN NOT BE STOPPED.

ME2: I'd say a tie between running into Tali's father and having Garrus and Tali both die on my mock up suicide mission.

The end of ME1 when Soverigns arm flys into the citadel tower. Your squad just looks so down and the anticipation on Anderons face as they watch as you climb from the rubble. The whole battle for the citadel was great.

ME 1: Virmire, Battle of the Citadel

ME 2: Reminiscing(sp?) with Liara on the Normandy. Because she was my LI in ME1, I like how LotSB tied it all together perfectly. Oh, and Project Overlord. So close to crying it wasn't funny. And I can't forget Tali's loyaly mission.

ME: The entire ending cutscene. Sovereign's destruction, Shepard triumphantly emerging from the debris, and the Council/Anderson's final speeches, followed by an image of our Shepard heroically displayed behind a beautiful planetary backdrop. Makes me tear up every time.

ME2: Everything during and after the suicide mission. Asides from its abrupt length, the suicide mission was quite epic. The music, Shepard's escape from the collector base, the destruction of said base, and finally seeing the reapers emerge from the darkness gave me chills.

Project Overlord. I've never come that close to crying while playing a video game.

How could I forget!  When I saw the ending, I was like--

:o...........:(.....:crying:

It was one of the few things I've ever seen in a game that's actually moved me close to tears.

ME1: Have to say the space vista views on uncharted worlds. I know it's not one moment, but nothing got me more in awe of the galaxy than staring out into alien atmospheres after having the MAKO struggle to get to the top of a 90 degree incline.

ME2: Project Overlord. That was one of the most horrid things I have ever seen done to a virtual human being. Disgusting.

ME1: Virmire proving that even the best plans can go awry (so realistic that I wanted to exact revenge on Saren and the geth) and the entire Battle of the Citadel. Especially Sovereign's destruction and Shepard emerging triumphantly from the wreckage. In both cases, kudos to the music playing. Definitely helped to keep me interested.

ME2: Tali's loyalty mission on the Flotilla (again, got ticked off at the geth and wanted to avenge her father's death), the Suicide Mission on all parts, Atlas Station on Project Overlord with David and his memories, and Lair of the Shadow Broker in every aspect. Again, I loved the music; it all blended in with scenarios.

And not to mention just those random renegade moments in both games. Hehe.Posted Image

The colonist side-story "I Remember Me" in Mass Effect 1 really gets to me, as does the scene with Liara on the Normandy in LotSB (when it's just friendship, no romance.) Seeing Shepherd finally show a softer side. When she says "Come Back Soon" it gets me teary eyed every time. Posted Image

I loved Tali's loyalty quest, but it had a bit of shoddy writing in there. It was the collective brilliance of all the actors that really made Tali and her people shine.

Paragon hug during Tali's loyalty mission was the only time Mass Effect ever made me squee.

This.
A thousand times this.
Probably reuniting with Garrus too, I wanted to give my tv a bro-hug.
Losing the Normandy.
The Collector ship, the emptiness of it sends chills up my spine.
Punching out the Shadow Broker, nothing has made me feel that ridiculously awesome.

In ME1:
The Spacer side mission with Zabaleta, it just really bummed me out.
Virmire, for pretty much the same reasons everyone's given.
Meeting Vigil, he just seemed so sad.
But more than anything else, the way Garrus reacts to you killing Doctor Saleon. It seems like that's when it hit him that the galaxy might not be such a perfect place.

Garrus' loyalty mission:

Beginning: "Yeah! Sidonis is totally going to die! You've always been there for me, I got your back, bro!"

And then seeing what his time in Omega did to him....Posted Image I felt like SUCH a betrayer...but I couldn't let him do it. I just sat there, teary-eyed, looking at my on-screen options for like five full minutes before I made the decision.

I've never felt like such crap.

And even worse, if the roles were reversed, I know Garrus would have had my back. Hell, he probably would have held Sidonis down, handed me the gun, and then shot the guy after I did just for messin' with me.

Oh gosh, that whole loyalty mission had me regretting every time I used a Paragon action. I wanted Garrus to have closure and all but.. didn't want to let him take those steps that would have made him no better than Harkin or even Saren. That was tough. Though I did laugh a bit when Garrus head-butted Harkin "What? I didn't shoot him." The concern that FemShep shows during the mission was very touching.

I'm still trying to figure out which moment moved me the most, there are so many. I think perhaps going into the Suicide Mission the first time without knowing what to expect really had me pumped and I can't remember any other video game moment getting my adrenaline going like that mission did. From going through the relay to jumping back onto the Normandy with one of my team-mates (Garrus in my case) pulling Shepard in.. the whole experience was unreal. I was shaking for hours after that.

THIS.  God, that was by far the most gut wrenching moment in any of the loyalty missions for me.  Just not knowing if he was gonna be cool with me afterwards.  I fully expected that he might just clam up and remain "unloyal" until the end.  Made getting him out of the SM in one piece a lot more frightening.

But as far as the #1 for me, I'd have to give it to the Council decision. I think that one was where I stared at my screen the longest.  Talk about a far-reaching decision.  By deciding their fate I'm basically playing with trillions of lives in that instant.

Tali's romance scene and the after dialogue. First it made me mad (No face!!!!!) then I laughed and reloaded the scene to listen the the horrible aftereffects of our fling.

Oh, and I almost forgot... despite everything, the part when Legion plays the recording of the geth asking if he has a soul? Makes my chest ache.

I mean, I guess I get why it scared the quarians, but yeesh.
