Could Kaidan, Thane, and Garrus could have been great Gay LIs?

Yes I can easily see Kaidan and Garrus.

Thane...meh. I'm sick of bi assassins. Do not want.

OK seriously guys, what hints on thinking that any of the Mass Effect characters are gay? Including females? Asari doesn't count.

There are plenty of files left in the game of audio between Shep and certain characters for gay romances.  Do a youtube search.  As far as hints to whether someone is gay or not, you usually just can't tell right off the bat.  Not every gay person is flamboyant.  I was talking with some friends of mine and most people don't even know how real gay people are.  They're just normal and not the stereotypes you see on tv and movies.

I mean what in their CHARACTER does hint it?

Does any of it show a difference for the gender of Shepard? What happens for when Ashley tells Shepard he's man with a good butt? Does Ashley have a different line here? What happens when Kaidan refers to Shepard as a woman in the romance?

Homosexuality isn't connected with any other character trait; you can't just look at a bunch of disparate traits and discern their sexuality there.

I know few homos in RL personally.
They stand out a bit.

And I'm sure the "few homos" are a scientifically accurate sample size, having already factored in cultural influence and other possible causes for their behavior to conclude that their behavior differences are biologically determined, and not just a stupid and remarkably clumsily phrased anecdote.

Kaidan's "Why did you leave me" speech on Horizon felt like it had Undertones, but that really was sloppy writing on Biowares part.

Kaidan: Sure, why not. Wasn't that the original intention?

Garrus: No

Thane: **** NO!

No, just no. What's up with the obsession with gay characters and romances on this forum. It's becoming really lame. Gays are small minority, why should they be in the game at all?

Kaidan/Maleshep romance would be totally hot. I definitely would roll a maleshep if they did that.

Just because a group is a minority doesn't mean they don't deserve to exist.
If you don't like it, don't play it.  That's all you have to do.  It's good storytelling, or it could be.  That's why people like romances.

Kaidan and Ashley were at one point, equal opportunity for Shepard.  They would have been able to show more of Shepard's character and how Shepard attracts people.  The fact that this was removed is still strange, and it leaves a weird hole where just Asari come up and constantly hit on Shepard no matter when or where, instead of showing Shepard's universal appeal.
Why would it matter if an alien was gay or not?  You're already having sex with an alien, at this point, you're just stacking it on.  Thane and Garrus would have been excellent LIs for a same sex Shepard, and would have shown more of the "Shepard" attraction.

That is an incredibly shortsighted view on the world. Lets just, you know, take all rights away from Muslims because they're a minority in our country. Gays should have the right to romance whoever they want in a game that is supposed to be all about forging the world around you through your actions and decisions. There should definitely be gay/lesbian relationships in ME3.

What makes you think it's a small minority?  Human beings by design are very sexual creatures.  I have known gay, straight and bi people and it isn't always something that is evident just by looking, and if you have no reason to ask, how would you know?

I am old and have seen quite a bit of the world and I think there is something to the diversity of peoples choices.  I think anyone, anywhere can change there sexual preference at anytime.  I also would have had no problem if my LI had been bi.  I don't see why you would, it's love after all that you are looking for.  If you love someone, you love them.

I can see all characters going both ways and I hope 175 years from now that this is not even a big deal.  I mean really, I hope the human race does  improve and grows out of it's prejudices.  It's about time.

You can do it in game but you have to deal with some unspoken lines, some spoken lines by Hale (none related to the romance thankfully), everyone calling you a chick, having to use default Sheploo and the like. Also the sex scene has smexy male Shep replaced by default FemShep of all people.

Thankfully it imports fine in ME2 although one line of dialogue is missing and Kaidan refers to you as a woman.

What does that have to do with rights? My point is that since gays are a minority, there is a chance you do not meet a single one considering you don't meet THAT many humans in Mass Effect. As for aliens, there is no evidence that proves turians or drell can even be gay. Personally, I don't  care either way, I rarely romance anyone and I wouldn't mind gay squadmates. What I don't understand is the recent trend - "the game must have s/s romance" - in both ME and DA forums. Although I have to say that making Garrus gay in ME2 would be ridiculous.

Also: There are people who think making Garrus and Tali romantically interested in Shep is ridiculous period regardless of gender. Didn't stop the devs from doing it.

Bioware should really just give us another monogendered sentient race that are predominately masculine.  We have Asari to cater to the heteorsexual fanbois... need something else to balance it out by catering to the ****** fanbois and some fan girls.

Cuz not doing so is just so darn hypocritical.

Not gay myself adolf but the majoraty is bigger than you think.
Thats what come out of the closet means......
Half the bioware team could be closet gays for all we know.
It doesnt matter!
This world makes some gay people afraid of what they are & afraid to admit it publicly.
Personaly i am disgusted with all of the gay bashers on this forum & i think something
needs to be done about it.
Although you all have your free speech.

Wow how about you just go play a nice manly game like modern warfare?
Mass Effect isnt for people with single beliefs & opinions!
It is a multiple choice action RPG.
& if i want to have sex with Garrus i am going to gay or not!
