I'm currently working on a Stasis Adept for Mass Effect 2.  The answer is because so far Stasis has saved my ass countless times against Boss-like opponents such as YMIR Mechs and Harbingers.  Right now I am stuch with deciding on what I should do with my passive: Should I go Bastion or Nemesis.  Typically I go for the ones that increase my Paragon/Renegade score but I am having a hard time deciding between Power Duration (Bastion) or Power Damage (Nemesis).  Seeing a Stasis doesn't inflict damage I would typically go with Bastion but Warp has been very helpful lately.  I typically crowd control with this character: Throwing up Singularities and Pull Fields, but I do like to go aggro from time to time especially when I CQC with Singularity.  Any suggestions on this build?

Stasis is great on an Adept, but it won't stop Harbinger (one of the few enemies who's immune to Stasis' effect - Singularity will keep him out of your way though).

Always go Bastion; best passive for Adept. Nemesis only increases Warp's damage which is pretty useless anyway - if your Warp can insta-strip (normal) enemies you're good. Bastion boosts Pull, Singularity and Stasis (and you'll get additional Par/Ren bonus)

Also, you'll have a 20% duration penalty (all powers) playing on Insanity; Bastion helps to neutralize this penalty. I only take Nemesis on my Adept if I'm using Energy Drain on Geth Missions (everything else (or without ED) Bastion).

Yeah I was wondering why Harbinger wasn't being effected but it does help with those damn YMIR Mechs.  Thanks.  Also what such I chose for weapon specialization.  I have been leaning torwards Shotguns lately after seeing some vids of people using them but I also seen some guys use Snipers.

I love Shotguns in ME2 and the GPS is great for Adepts - one shot will strip enemy defenses at all ranges, allowing your Adept's biotic powers to do their job; all the other shotties are nice also, but you'll need to get close to enemies to get the most out of em - risky but great fun if it works :)

The Mattock is deadly, and preferable to Sniper Rifles (annoying zoom when using powers); great at any range. There isn't a clear winner and it depends on playstyle, but Mattock and/or GPS are best weapons for Adepts IMHO.

...and you can walk and shoot at the same time with the Mattock. Kinda hard to do that with a SR.

If you are going to use shotties you might want to think about Barrier instead of Stasis. Use Singularity instead of Stasis, and Barrier as your OS button. It is a different playstyle using shotties on adept but they can be fun. For a more caster feel, use either Viper or Mattock which ever is your personal preference.
