This. I couldn't stand it at all. It annoys me that talking to someone the subplot is automatic and you can't really get out of it. Really ticked me off in ME1 with Ash and Shepard. I was like "Noooooo!!"

To be fair to DA, it's implied that you talk with companions off-screen (like when Leliana talks about when you keep watch at camp together), and the game takes place of weeks/months (not entirely sure), so it's not just a case of "Third conversation and I think I love you.". Not sure how ME gets away with it though.

Back to the topic, though, there's Shepard's "swept up" line at the start of the Liara romance, greeting Ashley/Kaidan on Horizon, all the obvious Shepard lines really.

That just made me click while my head was cocked to the side....

I did say "wow..." in my mind, but I thought it was all in good fun! It was kind of a "we know you're looking at it so...", kind of momment. My fav " Have you ever faced a Asari comando before?" From Liara as the first line you hear out of her. I was like, "Really?! You're using your mother's threats now?"

Oh another fav cringe moment, The Garrus story about "I had the reach, she had the flexability..." That was epic and cringe worthy at the same time! Good ol Garrus...

Well I guess they're more facepalm moments than anything actually...

I only cringe at Shepard's dancing... I wish they give him a few random dance animations. 3 good ones and then that shimmey one they love. It's good for a laugh in very small doses. Like watching a solar eclipse size doses. I want a pimp dance for Shep and his lovely lady squad!

Oh there are quite a few and memory simply cannot allot for them all. Of the ones I can recall...

Saren: "What can you expect... from a human?"
Shepard: "You can expect me to kill you!"
Me: "... so you are attempting to convince the Council Saren is evil by threatening to murder him? Probably not the best way to go about it." *facepalm*

Shepard: "Sooner or later, your going to have to start taking something I say on faith, Councilor!"
Me: "... no. That is what evidence is for. People have a tendency to lie when other people are stupidly gullible."

Shepard: "You've already made your decision. I won't waste my breath."
Me: "... of course they did! You suck at providing any evidence!" Honestly, this would not be cringe worthy if you had options. >.>

- The camera's affixation with Miranda's ass. I get it Bioware, she has a nice ass. So do a lot of women. It does not mean I wish to stare at it all bloody day. At least it is consistent for women and staring at Jacob.

- The cup breathing masks. I brought out laughing the moment I first saw Miranda's.

- The utter lack of continuality between ME and ME2.

- ME2's main story and Baby Reaperinator.

- The "Little Wing" line by Benezia was awful

- Every single moment any one in this game smiles. Good god that is creepy.

- That abomination they called the Hammerhead.

There's a lot that made me cringe but some are:

• The turian and quarian on Illium when the quarian said "private conversation"  .
  
• The forced romance dialogue that FemShep has with Jacob.
  
• Some lines when FemShep's voice gets too deep.
  
• Shep's pickup line with Garrus: "How about we skip right to the tiebreaker? We could test your reach... and my flexibility." Then Shepard's half smile.

Most of the stuff that makes me cringe is Shep's lines but there is too many for me to think of right now.

What made me cringe?



Mass Effect 2.

[Forsythia]

- The way FemShep talks to Jacob. I avoid talking to him, because my Shep doesn't want to get in his pants the minute she meets the guy

- Shepards rapeface

- Shepard dancing

- Jack's outfit from the Alternate Appearance Pack #1

- Morinth - she has to be the ugliest Asari out there. Come to think of it, I found the Asari much more attractive in ME1

- The difference in Liara's face going from ME2 to Lair of the Shadow Broker. Why did BioWare change her face like that?!

- The final boss in ME2. It was ridiculous and not frightening at all

- Jacks line about her being a ****, but a little girl too. Horrible. In fact, I find Jack cringeworthy alltogether. I know some find her personality 'deep', but she's just a psycho. Don't cover it up with tears or some emo story. Thank the maker she won't be in my ME3!

Guess that's a pretty good point, when I'm playing for ten hours I forget how much time passes in DA storywise. Either way, I still try and stay away from romance subplots. Too many cheesy lines *shudders*

Also, I forgot to mention, Shepard's dancing in ME2, Aria did kinda bug me with her big opening speech, and (though this is probably just me) everytime Jack swears at me. Or at all.
