Hello Dragon Age'ers!

I'm at the point in the Mage Tower quest where I have to choose either the Templars or the Mages.

I want to choose the Templars, but I also don't want to lose Wynne as a party member. If I do not have her in my party when I talk to Cullen and choose to kill the Mages, will Wynne eventually find out back at camp and still freak out and leave?

What are the differences in saving the Mages vs. the Templars?

Uhhh....are you referring to the blood mages? As far as i know, you can save both the 'normal' mages and the templar...joining the blood mages may make things problematic though....in which case im outa my element.

I wasn't aware there was a way to get her out of your party before you make that choice.

If you want to keep Wynne but want to side with the templars, you have to do the entire boss fight vs Uldred WITHOUT using the Litany of Andralla. If you use it even once, you'll have "saved" the circle. If you don't use it at all and fight through all the abominations, then the circle is destroyed and the Templar will side with you for the final battle.

How about the reverse: Can I kill Wynne, but then save some mages to get the mages on my side for the final battle? I pretty much thoroughly despise Wynne, but tactically, would much prefer to have the mages as range threat in the endgame, when melee is already cheap and plentiful.

I suppose I'm about to smack her dead and see if I can litany in the tower boss fight without her present. Thx for any insight though, as it's always nice to know before one spends hours playing through.

I'd like to see the player explaining that to her afterwards though, as she reminds you to use it before the fight and every time uldred starts casting.

Err well I forgot?

You can also save the mages and then tell Greagor that "If we let even one Blood Mage go, we'll regret it"

He'll agree, and disband the Circle. Then he'll agree to send his Templars to help you, and try to make Wynne the new First Enchanter, but she refuses and opts to travel with you instead.

GD fireballing mages, trying to kill me in the final battles. If I wasn't so nice, I'd side with the Templars. >_<

Wynne does not get angry at all if you don't save the mages. She will think you did the best you could. It's no problem to side with the Templars and keep Wynne. It is also possible to kill Wynne and side with the Mages.

Siding with the Blood mages however, thats not really possible. Uldred will attack you whatever you say to him.
