True or not, Merrill is the cutest name ever.
I suspect a certain Pokemon might agree. Wasn't a big fan of her in the Dalish origin but she might be more interesting with a Welsh accent.

I dont think there'll be any plant spells available so i could see her starting off with say a flame and earth spell, heal, spirit and creation stuff. Would be sweet if stinging swarm came back. Her spec might be like 'first of the clan' or 'dalish sorceress' whatever i dont mind as long as Merrill's a companion i'll be a happy apostate.

Wasn't much to her in Origins. I wonder what about her made her stick out as a character worth revisiting?

The apparent high demand for a female elf(possible companion) romance, of which I strongly agree with.

I can see alot of other dalish fans being happy, as many ppl thought fenris was a mage.

I for one, look forward to more insight on dalish magic and their tradition if merrill is a companion. Irregardless of her race, i find magic lore to be great. Id love more info on the avvar shamans, chasind mages, the seers of rivain who allow themselves to be possessed. The poor dalish....after witch hunt, its obvious the circles know more lore on dalish than they do themselves! Lol.

Merill would be awesome. Not just because she's an elven mage, but because she adds another facet to the game, her perspective is likely to be vastly different from anyone else in your party. I get the feeling the Templars are going to be really unhappy with you though, having both a Hawke apostate and Merill running around.

Hey, give me some credit! I tried to make a point earlier but I barely was lucky I didn't kill the thread.

let's hope she differs from Velanna in at least some respects, like the militant specism and intolerance for pretty much anyone else's existence
Seconded.
But from that teeny interaction you can have with her, she seems nicer. Then again, you're not human when you interact with her, so who knows?

Velanna was rather interesting....not to mention her party banter with oghren, nathaniel and especially sigrun was beyond hilarious...I basically kept her in my party because she gets some extra dialog in the final dungeon as you run into her sister "seranni" when you first enter that tower...though her ending doesn't seem to change much...whether you slay the architech or not( which I did 99% of time).
