Why would anyone be inspired to want to help a Commander Shepard like that?

Don't get me wrong, I love him. But I have this image in my head of him going through with an ultimate heroic sacrifice in the third game, since he's a dead man walking anyway. It would wrap up his arc nicely.
Everyone else, I'd like to survive, though so long as my original team (Garrus/Tali/Wrex/Liara/VS) survives I'll be ecstatic. LI as well, excluding Thane(see above), as that would make his whole story that much more impactful.

I don't really want to see any of the squad members die in particular; but Kaiden (RIP: Virmire) and Jacob would top the list since they're just not very interesting.
Jack would follow those two since she was more interesting; but also really pissed me off sometimes.
Grunt would follow Jack even though I liked his character simply because the main thing I liked about him was that he was Krogan and I happen to think the Krogan are pretty badass. Compared to Wrex, Grunt isn't a very interesting Krogan and I think ME3 should add a more interesting Krogan in his place.
Thane would follow Grunt even though I think he's a really interesting character simply because the dude has a terminal illness and if anyone is gonna go it makes sense that it should be him.
PS: Legion would top the list if he doesn't change going into ME3 since I think his character doesn't have much room for growth as is; but if Legion manifests individuality from the rest of the Geth then he would be a fascinating character, so I left him off the list.

So, no, I would not do that to any other characters. I don't mind things like the suicide mission, which allows for a perfect mission or losing some teammates, but forcing a choice like Virmire would just be frustrating, since it didn't result in any great emotional scenes, or even more than a throwaway mention in the second game.

Jacob is just kind of there so...meh.
Yes I like Miranda and want her dead. My PCs can't stand her though I like her.
Edit: Followed quickly by Liara. Hell Liara should probably be first. I don't mind her being the center just I hate the buddy buddy my PC is forced to be with her. Just because pscyho Asari is obsessed with Shep doesn't mean Shep won't file a restraining order.

I love mass effect 1 & 2 because of its memorable character but sometimes my memories of them make me want to tear of there face. For me the one character I can't stand is Kaiden. He is so 1 dementional and lifeless and he make me cringe everytime he opens his mouth. Now I ask you, who do you think should and why. Also say if you already killed them.

Seriously, why start a thread like this? Are you such a self conscious teen that you have to hate a character that shows some semblance of emotion and doesn't blast his way through hordes of bad guys. If you romance KaidAn as FemShep you see plenty of life in him and he is not one dimenSional.
If you don't like a squaddie, then don't have them on your team. You don't have to talk to them unless they are in the cutscenes. Just because they are not interesting to YOU, doesn't mean you should hate on them. Grow the F up!

Calm down, while I don't agree with his point of view it doesn't mean you, or I, have the right to tell him what to do. We should understand that he thinks differently to us. Also, he didn't say anything about Kaiden's emotional aspect, so you saying "Are you such a self conscious teen that you have to hate a character that shows some semblance of emotion and doesn't blast his way through Hordes of bad guys" is irrelevant. I can see why you would make such a large assumption, since that is the general point of view of people that dislike Kaiden.
His opinion is different to yours, and I find his opinion more rational than I would find yours at the moment, since you are making a personal attack on someone for having a differing point of view, and because you are not contributing to this topic at all. You are merely instigating a "flame" war, which is not beneficial to anyone.
