I myself am a console player, only ever played one game on PC and thats Origins. I really do prefer console, but Origins is very much designed for the PC, i did not enjoy it at all on my 360. Plus the fact that there are many, many mods being regularly released, the PC version is definitely ALOT better than the console version.

However, since DA2 is going to be alot more optimised for the consoles, i've been thinking i may get it for my 360 instead of my PC. But then there's the fact that the PC version will have a **** tonne of mods, and the gameplay isn't exactly intense (I prefer slower, more tactical games on the PC; and faster, more intense games on my 360).

Anyway, i'm very split on which version to get. For those who are buying the console version of DA2, why?

I will, but I don't play games on the PC. I only played DA on the XBox 360.

From what I've seen, the gameplay can be as fast or slow as you want it. And I don't think there's a toolset with DA2, so that cuts down on the **** tonne of mods.

I play on PC because, if I didn't, I'd never be able to play it. I am TERRIBLE (no, really) at console games. I just don't seem to have to reflexes to keep myself from repeatedly dying.

Though all power to you lot that can do it. :)

So there will not be as in-depth mods in DA2? Because that is a major reason i got DAO for PC.

Me. Played Origins on the 360 and will play DA2 on the 360. I realize the game is better suited for PC and all, but I don't use my laptop for gaming and I already have a 360 that is just fine.

I have it for both but I'm playing console first, I prefer the feel of a controller over mouse / keyboard and most of my good saves are on the console.

PC. I prefer mouse and keyboard, I enjoy mods, and my rig's hardware is superior to the 360's.

it's just nice to have all the controls you need within easy reach, no assigning hotkeys

I'm playing it on the 360 because I have no computer even close to being capable of running it and I can't afford one or to upgrade, in addition to the above control preferences.

my laptop does get some use for Baldur's Gate 2 and related older games, however

I should amend my statement. From what I heard, it's not the same toolset as before. Make of that what you will.

I'm a console gamer as well..though I may be the only PS3 console gamer on this site, and I don't play games on my laptop either...though I do search for and find guides and stuff for them on my laptop as well as watch people do "let's play walkthroughs and such" as well...I'm also waiting for ME 2 to release later this month for my PS3( I had and beat ME on my 360 when I had one or actually before RROD on me..which is why I no longer own a 360).

I'm a console player, myself. It's just a matter of preference. I grew up with console gaming. I have an older brother, so I played whatever he played on. A controller in my hands feels like home. lol I've played Origins on PC before, but it took awhile to get used to the interface. In the end, I just preferred the console. Plus, my PC is now(after an unrelated incident) strictly used for my college and graphic design work... and the internets. lol The few game plays I had on my PC are now gone, so continuing it from there on PC would do me no good. *shrugs*

As for mods... though a few of them I'm rather jealous of, I really don't care for most of them.

Gonna be playing on my XBOX 360, I don't think you can beat chilling on the sofa with the pad in your hand, if I lived on my own I could probably justify rigging the PC up to the TV and doing the same thing, but I don't........ so I wont be.

I'm a console gamer too, so I bought DAO on the 360, though now I'm kinda jealous of the PC version. Then again, I knew nothing about DAO when I bought it other than that it was made by bioware (I had only just begun to get into their games with Mass Effect), so I saw no reason not to pick the 360 version. But as I said, seeing all the cool mods and the very tactical aspect in the PC version made me kinda regret that. Luckily, DA2 seems to have improved console gameplay (especially the "move to" order - it was really annoying trying to get characters where you wanted them to be in DAO) :)

I will not be playing on the console for the reasons:

1. That I want access to modifications (and to build them) if BioWare allows us to.
I say if they allow us to, as there is not guarantee that they are definitely updating the toolset for comparability with DA2 (though I really, really hope they do).
2. PC version is likely to have better graphics (and even if not, can be made to look prettier with AA etc.).
3. PC version is cheaper (at least in the UK).
4. I generally prefer PC gaming to console gaming.

I am on 360. Simply because I cant afford a computer good enough to hold Dragon Age's epicness. That, and I prefer a controller to a keyboard and mouse. (Though I do enjoy PC games)

I'll be playing on my PS3 because if I tried to play any game on my computer it would most likely explode.

I started playing Origins on the PS3 platform but switched to PC when I noticed certain discrepancies in quality and support between the two versions. For DA2, I'd *probably* return to the console version if there was a way to transfer my save files, and I say that as someone with Crossfired 5870's; case in point - I'm getting the PS3 version of ME2 when it comes out.

Here are my reasons (in order of most to least important to me): I miss my controller and radial menu; I have a general feeling that Bioware has learned from its past mistakes with the consoles; the ports are being done in-house this time; some of the PC advantages are up in the air or gone completely (toolset, overhead camera view); I miss stretching out on my comfy sofa in front of the big screen.
