DA:O was enjoyable on it (even though it could be a little frustrating when it came to targeting and tactical stuff), and this one looks like it'll be a bit easier to handle.

If our PC were anything more than a dinosaur, I would do more PC gaming. As it is, the last game I can think of we could run above the lowest possible settings was Neverwinter Nights 2.

I do have one more reason I'm going to be playing on the 360. Our computer is in the living room. I have to play with the sound off. My husband watches hunting shows while I play video games.

I really don't understand why some (the more fanatical ones, I suppose) PC gamers are always so hostile and angry toward console players, as if the mere existence of consoles offends their "high class" video game sensibilities. The way some people act, you'd think their family was murdered by consoles.

The thing is, we as PC players don't brag about our systems unlike certain PS3 fandogs or xbots. Its when stupid and ignorant console players like them spouting lies and BS about the PC platform due to their narrowmind which initiates all this.

PC players hardly spout console wars unlike certain console fandogs, its mainly the latter who does so. Plus its extremely annoying to see how overly devoted some people are to a circutboard, its not as if M$ or $ony is going to give them money for their console loyalty.

And no, im not an elitist, i own a console too.

I'm sorry but that is untrue. PC players that i have run into all over the internet are fairly comfortable with exclaiming their superior system and controls. Every gaming system has the same amount of die hard fanboys that rip up the other systems

Anyway, i didn't intend this thread to turn into a war between systems. I just personally thought the 360/PS3 combat and controls for DAO were atrocious, and ridiculously boring. It was clearly a PC game, as the controls suit the game a lot more.

Anyway i think i'll be getting DA2 for my 360, as the combat and controls looks much improved for consoles. I'll just have to trudge through the bad controls of DAO 360 version though.

That might be because the television is regarded as an independent appliance, rather than part of the console.

And that's silly.  The display is a mandatory component of console gaming.  For anyone who doesn't happen to have an HDTV (or a TV at all), that's a huge barrier to console gaming.

Granted, I'm not a console gamer (I do own a 360, but if DA2 were 360-exclusive I would not play it), so I'm more irritated by these specious pro-console arguments.

Funny, since my big screen HDTV was half the reason why I got a PS3 (Movies and Games visible on the large screen in the living room... ah the luxuries...) and that's also why I got DAO for the PS3 first. Yeah, I later did get the PC version, but when DA2 comes out, I'll still likely play it on the Console first (though I have both versions preordered.)

Well, I haven't done a study, but I'd think it's safe to say anyone with a console will have a TV somewhere in the house.

PC it is, but I think DA2 will be much more enjoyable on the console then DAO. Since Baldurs Gate (MY FIRST LOVE) came out I played every Bioware RPG on the PC... Those were the day my friend!

Whereas, the best display I have is my computer monitor. It's both bigger than my TV, and a higher resolution than any TV.

What kind of tiny TV do you have?
Or, I suppose, what kind of huge monitor do you have?

I have PS3 Xbox360 and PC, I bought PC version first (as a fan of Baldur Gate and IWD) But after I beat the game, I tried it on my PS3 , didnt bother to try xbox360 verson causeof the crapy graphic, and I was very with the result. I couldn't play the hardest difficulty on PS3 cause you need the PC feature for tactical aspect of the game.

No offense, but you kind of make your whole argument moot when you use terms like “xbots” and “fandogs”. Some people make good points when discussing the strengths and weaknesses of console verses PC, but in my opinion it mostly boils down to preferences and the reasoning falls in afterward. I agree that graphic wise a PC is the leader, but I play on a Xbox because it’s what I prefer. Play what you want on whatever device you want. This isn’t high school where you have to have the better clothes or you’re not significant. We’re all adults. It shouldn’t be too hard for us to act like one.

I'm playing on the ps3. It's all I have, though I do wish I had a good gaming rig.

Sorry but it is regardless of what you choose to believe. There ARE pc elitists that DO exclaim that their platform is superior, but its 90% of the time that its either the ps3 fanboys or the xbots that start initiating these kind of stupid console wars. I almost always see a console war being brought up by either of these two.

Me, for several reasons:

1. I've always played on consoles.  My household has always been a few years behind the best computer technology, so there has never been a computer in my life capable of handling any games that I've wanted to play.  Except for the original Sims, which is as advanced as my current computer will go.  Playing video games on consoles with good old controllers is what I've always done.

2. I am too dirt poor at the moment to buy a gaming computer.  I know, the PC people insist that it's not that expensive, but there is already an Xbox 360 in my possesion, while in the battle of computer upgrade vs. paying the rent, the rent always wins.

Meanie that I am, I will simply note that I am playing DA II on a console right now.

But don't be jealous, I'm -also- playing it on the PC to see if the same bug appears on all three platforms, so it's not all fun and games.

It's a 27" CRT; I bought it over 8 years ago.

What are you playing as?

Female rogue bow specialist who's currently competing with Varric for most thugs pincushioned. She's winning, but only barely.

Now you've slipped into teasing! :)  Obviously you can't get into specifics, but how does the feel of playing DA2 on the 360 compare to the feel of playing DA:O on the 360?
