I pre-ordered the PC version, I like it better on PC. However I have xbox version of DA O so I will get it on that eventually. I waited until the winter sales to buy the first one though...Why? I like the sounds achievements make...shallow huh?

I played Origins on PC. I was thinking of getting DA2 on console because the way combat is going to work on console sounds more like my style of play and because during really heavy fights with lots of enemies and magic being thrown around like crazy DA:O would lag for me and I don't want that to happen in DA2 and console games don't really lag at all. In the end I decided to get DA2 on PC though because you could transfer you DA:O save and it would slightly change how the world is in DA2. In ME2 if you start a new character the choices made during ME1 that you have no controle over are all pretty bad/renegade choices. I didn't want to take the risk with starting a new character in DA2 on console and finding that woman as queen and the Elven Alianage destroyed or something.

I'm getting DA2 on for PS3. I have played the Mac version of DA:O but I haven't even been able to get myself to finish a playthrough. So even if it was coming out for Mac right away, I would still get the PS3 version.

I have DA on both 360 and PC. I decided this time it will be exclusively on PC because the first one was so much better of a experience on PC for me.

I'm getting it for the PC, because I don't have a consol (and I prefer the keyboard and mouse). I'm just hoping it will not be as demanding on my computer as DAO (not very likely, I know)...

I will be playing it on my 360. I don't have a gaming PC but either way I had no issues playing the first one on my Xbox.

Now you've slipped into teasing! :)  Obviously you can't get into specifics, but how does the feel of playing DA2 on the 360 compare to the feel of playing DA:O on the 360?

Better, I think, but I'm about as biased as it's possible to be. The key changes are being able to issue move-to-point orders from the radial, so you can move your party around, and since you can pretty much count on your characters to fire/act sooner to when you push the button, there's a snappier response. Personally, I've been working on lining up shots that blow through the target, hitting everything in a path; can't do it often in a fight, but it's very satisfying when you do. And if you're teamed up with a mage?

Well....you'll learn more about how that works later. ^_^

Ah that's a very welcome change, as it was annoying when situations would occur like when Wynne and Leli (set up for a bow) decided to move from being at a distance and spread out to be right beside the Archdemon, and I'd have to manually move them back.

As for the OPs question, while I may convert to mainly PC gaming during the summer or eventually, as my laptop is pretty laggy for TF2 and SC2, I'll be playing DA2 on the Xbox as I played DA:O on it and I don't have a PC good enough to play it.

Man, that's alot of games with the acronym XY2.

360. Don't have/want to pay for a gaming rig and my TV > monitor. Plus me and wife hang out and play games or watch each other play so the couch works better than some office chairs.

i'm getting it on both 360 and pc... essentially they're different games with the same story and so it'd be nice to see the difference

PC, most likely, provided the computer store can fix up my PC so that it fits the specs, which he said he can. Otherwise, I'd have to get an Xbox360 or a PS3. Lol.

360 first, PC eventually. First time is always to enjoy the story, and I personally enjoy it more sitting on a couch watching my TV, haha. Yeah, I know you could play the PC version that way as well, but my setup doesn't cater to it. Too much work for just one game.

I'll get the PC version down the line, when it's cheaper for the superior gameplay and mods.

I'm going to play on my 360. Never been much of a PC gamer, so it feels pointless to bother, especially since games that I want on PC only seem to come out once every 4-5 years, and I'd have to upgrade my computer every time. Trust me, I know. I've fallen into the PC game upgrade trap before.

I've always preferred console games because more of the types of games I seem to like are there and I've been playing console games since the late '80s. I'm more used to a controller than a keyboard and mouse for gaming. There's also the fact that I import games from Japan. Most of the PC games released in Japan are love sim sorts of games it feels like. Again, more limited.

It is too bad I miss out on the mods, but I can deal with that.

Games like DA and DA2 are just so vastly superior on the PC that its a really easy call, if your computer can run it you get it for your computer. As awesome as DAO was, it was just limitlessly better on the PC where you can mod away the bugs, the annoying parts (specificly that annoying part of the Fade in the Mage Tower), give the characters cooler looking outfits, romance Morrigan as a Female Warden, marry Anora with any background whatsoever, etc etc etc. Its totally night and day better, and I imagine its going to be basicly the same for DA2. So yes, I'll be getting it for the PC, already have my Signature Edition pre-ordered, have for a long time now :) .

I would get it for my PC, but I'm too lazy to bother with mods during the college semester, especially crunch time. In fact, I avoid PC games like the plague during college semesters because I'm afraid I'll get That Feeling. Y'know. "I must play WoW right now" and suddenly it's 5:00 am on an exam day and I haven't studied anything at all. Yeah, bad juju. So, console it is for me. No WoW or EQ II or City of Heroes or Guild Wars there, no siree!

And hush about the internal inconsistencies, like FFXI for 360! Hush, I say. Don't tempt me. :(

Im going to be playing on PS3 myself. Reason being? I always have been a console gamer and always will be. Sure, the game might look slightly better on PC and have mods etc. But the fact for me remains that I was an atari child and grew up in the 80s so "looking prettier" isnt exactly a big selling point for me. Also, a controller in my hand just feels more "natural" I guess you could say.

On a side note, big money says this thread ends up getting locked because some jerkwad WILL inevitably start yet ANOTHER console vs PC war.

I will also be getting this for PS3, and I was also an Atari child, by the way.  My very first memory of gaming was playing "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" for hours with my brother.  Console gaming is superior, for me, because I never seem to have the right sort of PC to actually play games at their optimum level.  When you have a console, you know that the game has been made for your console and there is no need to upgrade.  Granted, the PC version will probably run better, but I never had a problem with Origins on my PS3, so I probably won't even notice.

ps3, I just prefer a controller.

Same here. PS3. Though I just did a super upgrade on my pc since it died(basically made a new computer). So I need to test it, but I think I will still get it on PS3 first. So happy they are now supporting my console of choice! Though if a steam deal comes out one day for $20 or less, Ill repick it up for PC and try it. Never had a PC that could handle games before now.

I playing on a console, but which one is still up in the air. I got DA:O day one for 360 and i just got DA:O Ultimate for PS3 a few days ago. I think it looks and sounds much better on PS3, but performs much better on 360. I just need to know if the PS3 version of DA2 plays as well as the 360 version cause that will be the deciding factor for me.

Playing on 360. Like controller, my PC cannot handle newer games. Well maybe on minimun graphcis but...
Oh and:
Please tell me pressing A doesn't auto move my character anymore... i hate that. I press A, the character attacks the chose target is in range, otherwise nothing. That's how it should work. IMO. Same with other attacks.

It will, they built the game up for each platform. That should get out a lot of the flaws.
