PC for me. Most "office" PCs can now run games fine, why buy am extra console? Also, mods add content, keyboard/mouse controls are more accurate, and you can alt-tab for browsing, emails etc..
My PC is from 2005...

I've actually got DAO and DAA for the PC, and have a damn nice laptop which plays it quite well, according to my wife. However, I don't enjoy mouse/keyboard controls in action games, so I reserve the laptop for strategy games which I don't like an xbox controller for - Total War, Civilations, etc.
Personally, I was fine with the graphics on the 360 version - people keep saying how much better they were on PC. Sure, they were better on PC, but to me, not enough to get me off my couch and off the PC. Besides, the graphics aren't a huge part of why I buy or play games.
I also don't care much about the mods - my wife has installed a ton of them, and other than the skip the fade mod, none of them really appeal to me.
So, XBox it is for me.

I have a new laptop, but being an idiot I have no idea where I can check the system specs. Though I am thinking about buying the Ultimate Edition just in case I can run DA 2. Though then I still need to figure out how to use mods and all...
But I'm playing DA 2 on PS 3 for now.

I'll be playing it on the PC first simply because I am anxious to see how some characters I made on that platform shape the world of DA2. I've grown quite attached to my manmage and seeing any more Amell references will make me smile.
I'm just glad they split the optimization effort to best fit the platform it is on. As a fan of both tactical combat and reflex-based combat, I'm excited to try both of these experiences out.

PC.... it's better
Bias aside, I've received a new desktop for my b-day and it will arrive sometime in the beginning of January. I've played both console and PC and I've always loved PC gaming and always will (playing intense RTS game [StarCraft 2] in comparison to power gaming in Halo 3 or Call of Duty makes console gaming look like a sluggish old man).
So yeah PC for me, my brother can play with the 360 now with his new Kinect.
actually a console is better besides the graphics are the same and there are some things about a pc that i love it but i will never play dragon age 2/or masseffect2/3 on a pc anything that states in the manual you can use a usb gamepad.. that just screams why pay for pc game when they just plug in a game pad?
and another thing might be downing the pc games{ i have alot them} but some things are not able to get improved unless you go out an buy a whole new pc i.e some pc have pci express cards {x15} ports but you cant buy a pcie2.0{x15} card and use in the pci:express1 slot.
this is the new thing that was just introduced to the gaming world and i rather not throw out a computer that can play abunch of games that can run this computer because tech says i need this card to play this game when i just played it on my xbox360
and i preordered da2 i am really hoping they dont go half ass in this new game please dont dissapoint us..

So, 360, set it to casual, and I cruise through it. (I really am terrible at all forms of gaming, but on the PC it's a disaster. Even games like Lighthouse lol.)

I myself am a console player, only ever played one game on PC and thats Origins. I really do prefer console, but Origins is very much designed for the PC, i did not enjoy it at all on my 360. Plus the fact that there are many, many mods being regularly released, the PC version is definitely ALOT better than the console version.
However, since DA2 is going to be alot more optimised for the consoles, i've been thinking i may get it for my 360 instead of my PC. But then there's the fact that the PC version will have a **** tonne of mods, and the gameplay isn't exactly intense (I prefer slower, more tactical games on the PC; and faster, more intense games on my 360).
Anyway, i'm very split on which version to get. For those who are buying the console version of DA2, why?
The way I figure it, you have two choices: First, you can get DA2 for the PC in order to have your saves carry over. Second, you can get the ("ultimate" is it?) edition with all the DLC included of DA:O, then get DA2 on 360.
Always better to get the next game on the peripheral you played the first one on. I really hope that this thread doesn't become a PC vs. Console argument though

I should advice you that the "6 months upgrade to keep up HNNNG" myth is a myth only. My computer is from 2008 Mid-High end and it runs everything maxed there is these days. It's not as expensive as it seems at all. This computer will last me till the end of this console gen and some way into the next. I love it.halO bendeR wrote...
I'm playing on the 360 for the sole reason that I can't afford to be upgrading my PC every 6 months to something that will run the most current games available. I realize I'm not getting the 'optimal' gaming experience, but then again, I tend to play Bioware games for their story and not their gameplay.
I'm pretty tired of listening to people using that 6 month upgrade bull**** as an excuse for being a console gamer. If you prefer consoles then by god say so instead. Just don't spread lies and **** about PC gaming please. The only people to upgrade all the time are the Overclock enthusiasts and all they do is foam over specs and spend loads doing so. Don't spread false facts, thanks.
I respect your preference (i myself much prefer the couch in platformers, sports, racing games) but not the reason you gave here since it's based on ignorance.

so many things straight up wrong about this post I don't know where to begin.
-Graphics are the same? I didn't know the 360 had directx11
-It states you can use a gamepad but I don't think it recommends it. This game was designed for keyboard and mouse, the giant, ugly radial menu should have clued you in to this.
-You don't need to buy a new pc, ive had the same pc for four years now and it will play Dragon Age 2 just fine as well. Iv'e got a feeling you were trying to play with an onboard card which is no ones fault but your own.

What you say is true, to an extent.
PCs are more expensive than consoles, that's fact. Yes, you can go pay $800 for a mid-high end PC tower, and yes, it will be able to handle most anything the gaming world comes out with for 3-4 years with no problem. But for some people, that's a lot of money.
And if someone buys a lower end PC - or one that simply doesn't have the upgradeability of a higher end machine - in the $400 range, they will find themselves unable to run games on max settings within a year or so - and likely, within 2 years, unable to run most games.
So while what you say is true, what you complain about is also true. It depends a lot on what you get to begin with.

Yeah, fact is with so many ports, PC gaming requirements have stayed really low ever since Crysis came out in 2007 really. PC gaming is only expensive if you're upgrading with every new graphics card that comes out or if you're wasting money on an Alienware or something.
PC gaming is really only as expensive as you want it to be. And then of course you can do so much else with a PC too. Its really no different than saying console gaming is terribly expensive as you need to get the console, an HDTV, controllers, Xbox live subscription...blahblahblah.
You can game for cheap on either PC or consoles, its all about what you prefer and what you value more.

For me it honestly has to do with 2 things: money and just not enough PC only games to buy.
I 'm one of the lucky ones, I guess, that still has a launch model Xbox 360. So my console is over 5 years old. I use an older model PC, maybe 4 years old, since I just use it mainly for internet and anything work related I do at home. Plus, I'll buy older games off of gog.com.
