Right. When starting the game and clicking on "downloadable content", I see I have the blood armor, a ring I can't remember the name of that gives you +1 to all attributes and Shale.
However, when I am in-game and look up the downloadable content I see I can purchase Shale for 1200 points...
Do I have that component installed or not?
Also, my journal has a tab on "Premium content" that regards a merchant i Sulcher (sp?) pass. I hope this IS the Shale component?

Note that I play off-line, my computer can't cope with such games and run anti-virus programs and such in the background.

you don't appear to have that content authorized (in order to run DLC it has to authorize online) from within the game

OK, so in order to play that particular content I actually have to play online - whereas for the ring and the armor (which I get every time I start a new game) I can play off-line?

you have to authorize it online (it should show in the tab on the right for "installed content" with a check mark) if it is there then yes, you just need to log the game in online and let it authorize

Right. This is the part where I get confused. :-)

You see, when I start the game executable, and get the menu, I click "downloadable content". There I find Shale, with a check mark.

In-game, my journal has an entry on "Premium Content".



But when I open the "downloadable content" from INSIDE the game (when I have loaded a save game), it appears as if I DON'T have Shale installed.

So, it seems to me I both have Shale installed and authorized - as well as not installed and un-authorized... :-D

I can't remember the screen layout, so I can't answer you with 100% certainty, but yes - I think so.
Will check it when I get home from work.

Note that on my very first character I actually played online - as I had read some posts that suggested that you needed to do so in order to get the DLC authentication.
Question is, do I have to authorize it every time I start the game? :-/

Also note that the blood armor and the ring works perfectly off-line, and I DO get a "Premium Content" entry in my journal... So if the merchant in the pass that "has an offer that seems too good to be true" in fact is the Shale component, then I guess this may not actually be any problem after all.

I'm not positive that you have to authorize it every time... we encourage people to be logged in though in order to get the full benefits of all the stuff that goes along with the EA account... like your character page and the updating avatar and such

I also have shale with redeem code downloaded in full but not on far right tab named "installed" i dont know how to get him fully installed.... Im at merchant in game to get rod for shale but it says check (downloadable content)..... I need help please!
