That's not very likely, Ash or Kaidan are going to play major roles in ME3, I agree, but in DLC content.. I don't think so. They already did this with Liara and look how this turned out. Ash and Kaiden had a lot wider scenarios they simply won't fit in single DLC.

And talking about Alliance, firstly something should happen with Cerberus just to give a reason to reunite the alliance. Maybe Reapers will attack Cerberus first and after destruction or retreat you eventually will have to join Alliance.

Yeah look how it turned out, winning awards and praised by the fans. Not quite catching your point.

And a VS DLC would be the perfect ending to the ME2 bridging content. Dealing with the Alliance (Doesn't necessarily mean rejoining them, if Cerberus is your pimp just say FU to the Alliance, it's still dealing with them) and readying yourself for ME3. Also a bunch of interaction with Ash.

Sounds like a good way to finish off ME2.

I must respectfully disagree with the OP.

I do think that there will be a Virmire survivor DLC.

But I suspect the next DLC will be more likely an Appearance Pack.

IF there is a Virmire DLC, I suspect it will be released between five and three months before ME3 comes out, with strong undertones/foreshadowings towards ME3, all in order to hype interest in ME3 amongst the fanbase before it comes out.

It may be correct, but the "Alliance marine" bit isn't exactly strong evidence.

Sure, marketing people do take care when writing those blurbs, but that doesn't mean they are always accurate. Read this for some examples:

This.

Such a late DLC would even allow to record additional lines for all ME2 squadmates, thus making the employment of their voice actors even for the shortest ME3 cameos worthwhile.

DLC about Wrex would be awesome! Wrex + Grunt + Shepard = Ultimate Death!

One could hope that DLC involves getting rid of the virmire survivor instead!

A VS DLC would be half the length of LotSB, at best. They'd have to record all of the dialogue twice and even if the lines weren't exactly the same you can bet 90% of Shep's responses would be. I'm not saying I don't want their story dealt with, but prepare to be underwhelmed unless it's on it's own disc and isn't available to download for 360. Which I'd have no real issue with tbh, maybe have it be a 10-15 hour deal? That could work.

ME2.5 a 10 - 15 hour expansion that deals w/ VS, Wrex, Shep's LI and the Reapers. That would be nice.

Well, yeah, that's pretty much what everyone is assuming, actually. Such a DLC would make the perfect finale for ME2.

Pretty much, yep.
Add to it that the newest comic is about TIM, and we have our stage set. The Alliance vs Cerberus subplot, altohugh subtle was always present, and given Anderson's and Ash/Kaidan's reaction to Shepard working with them pretty much reinforces it.

Maybe we'll take TIM down and then be given the choice to pull the plug on Cerberus or reattach it to the Alliance.
However, if that's the case, I guess this DLC will only be playable if you've finished the main quest.

This upcoming DLC is going to be huge. I mean, if they intend to explain how Shepard goes from knowing the Shadow Broker and barely talking to the Alliance to communicating with both somewhat evenly, then they have a lot of ground to cover. They also have to include the Reapers coming into the galaxy and getting to Earth. It'll either be an expansion or DLC that won't fit on the remaining space on my Hard drive.

LotSB was praised by reviewers and fans. I don't see your point at all, there is a minor few who hate LotSB and they are not even vocal.

I'm wondering if the description they're listing at the EA store isn't subject to change. The whole alliance marine thing kinda doesn't make sense. Unless they either have a DLC that would be considered canon whether or not people download and play through it. Or just a few sentences at the beginning of ME3 to explain.

I want this so much. The problem with an expansion is how are they going to import the choices of ME2 and the expansion? It would need two different importers.

Why focus so much of the DLC on TWO squad members? I have no problem if they're are PART of a DLC pack, but I fail to see how Ashley or Kaidan are deserving of an entire DLC pack. Neither of them have particularly interesting back stories, and I'm struggling to see how focusing on either of them will bridge the main story between ME2 and ME3.

Help me out here.

Ashley/Kaidan return in DLC?, what a waste of DLC!, I was fine with either up until horizon, they both knew where their loyalty lies, and not with the person who fought by their side, saving both the aliance and perhaps the council, I'll get the DLC, even if it's just to for my paragon tell Ash/Kai to scurry off back to those they are loyal to or my renegade shoots them!

Lots of people seem to think you can build an entire DLC pack around the VS, but I don't...I just hope the DLC features them at some point, as it should involve Shepard going back to Citadel space and dealing with the Council and Alliance and stuff after the Collector base.

Um, no it wouldn't.  All it has to do tack the new variables onto your save.  Then you write a single import utility that's aware of all potentially recorded variabiles. If they're there, they're imported. If they're not, they aren't and ME3 goes with whatever the devs decided the defaults are.

If you hate the characters, there's really no way to convince you that DLC focusing on them would be worth your time.  The Kaidan and Ashley DLC Wishlist Thread has lots of good ideas about how DLC featuring one of them could be implemented.

The DLC wouldn't have to be centered around VS. It could just be a post SM quest that puts Shepard back into the alliance by helping them out in some way. Even if it's just a brief convo that sorts out what was said on horizon a lot of players will be happy

That's what we mean when we talk about a "Virmire survivor" DLC. We just want a DLC that incorporates Ash/Kaidan.

To you they don't.

I couldn't agree with you more shinobi. That's exactly what I was thinking. Not to mention that the retard has no evidence or links to show that the majority of fans hate Ash/Kaiden.
