I not long bought Mass effect from the Steam website and every time I try play it a message comes up 'Launching mass effect' then it never appears up, i am sitting here waiting for it to load but nothing will appear up on my screen so i leave it for about 10 minutes and then double click on the mass effect icon again but another message appears saying 'this is already running'.

so i would like to know what is going on please and why it wont open up and play for me because i dont really want to lose out on money for games that wont work for me.

If you haven't yet you should try restarting your PC, sometimes programs get bugged and the PC recognizes them as running, when they're clearly not.
If that doesn't fix the problem, then maybe you should try reinstalling the game.
You should also check if your computer hardware is good enough to run this game (though i doubt this is what's causing the game to not start properly).

If it doesn't help, then i don't really know what will help, maybe someone else will.

Happened to me, right click the steam icon and click run as administrator when starting steam up and there ya go
