How she decides she's all of a sudden Shepard's main assistant. I'm playing through ME2 again and she says to Jack, "I'm Shepard's second-in-command." Even though I'm mostly full-Paragon, I'd renegade interrupt that right there and say," Actually, Garrus is, because you know, he helped me defeat Saren and he doesn't work for Cerberus." And then slap her. B**** needs to learn her place on my ship.

My Shep just let her think that if she wanted to. Besides, Garrus loved those guns too much to have time for anything else. ;^)

Yeah, same, although I shocked her when I assigned Garrus to the 2nd fireteam leader. hehe

Miranda is my Shepard XO and I hope she will remain it in ME3. She's the most competent for this job and I don't want someone else.

One more reason to not like TIM.

Garrus is more qualified.

I like Garrus, but I prefer Miranda for this job.
Garrus will remain a good fire team leader, but he will never be my XO.

Miranda's job isn't just going "oh hai i'm your boss" on Shepard's squadmates. Her job is making sure that everything on Normandy runs smoothly. Food, supplies, HR - it's all her job. And I doubt that Garrus will be more effective in this job than her.

Meh, still don't like her.

And? Your attitude to her was obvious from very beginning but I don't think it deserves dedicated topic.

Hey, your are not even allowed to enter certain compartments on the Normandy until yet another Cerberus fashion show winner settles in there! Who are you kidding?

Miranda got what she deserved for making herself XO. I made sure she got flattened like a pancake on my main Shep. I don't want to have to deal with her in ME3. >:)

You took the words right out of my keyboard!

I can't really see Garrus spending hours each day tracking spare parts on a spreadsheet, dropping what he's doing (calibrations of course) to order extra butter for next week's batch of cookies, or even keeping a civil tone while two chaps on the ship argue with each other about who gets to take leave first, or any of the other 1001 bits of minutia an XO has to deal with.

Call me crazy, but I think there might be just a touch of personal animosity (and/or romantic jealousy) that drives Miranda's and Jack's "interactions."

"The access to the AI core is restricted, Shepard." -- sounds familiar?

At least you are authorized to use the bathroom from the very start.

I believe Miranda makes more sense as XO than Garrus (and please note: I'm not pro-Cerberus). He may be a good fire team leader; but making sure everything's running smoothly on the Normandy (a ship built by Cerberus and packed with a Cerberus crew) seems to be Miranda's job. Also, I just don't think that being XO is Garrus' cup of tea.

I hope there's an option to choose your XO in ME3 for roleplaying's sake. (Still, my Shep's XO would be Miranda anyway.)

So all in all, EDI is the most fitting XO for Normandy.

Otherwise, yeah it's Garrus. He knows how to deal with people, not how to manipulate them. He's "one of the crew", so to speak. And he has experience in handling a team. And we have EDI for the butter and cookies shipments.

Yes op that made me laugh too. Early as freedom's progress she says "you're in charge" yet the whole time shes telling you where to go and what to do.

She's not telling you what to do, she questions your decisions, occasionally. Good second-in-commands are supposed to do that, they're supposed to think for themselves and to offer alternative solutions. I don't get that childish animosity that drives people to dislike anyone who doesn't worship slavishly at the player's feet. I can only hope that nobody of those who say "B**** needs to learn her place" will ever end up in a position of power, and I wonder if I should pity the women they're going to marry.

As for "her place"; that's definitely at my side, not at my feet. If she says something, I'll listen and decide to follow her advice or not as a good commander should. I won't play my Shepard as an authoritarian ass*ole.

Miranda has every right to be Shepard's second-in-command and I thought it was pretty obvious that she would be from the beginning. Besides, I don't think she tells Shepard what to do, but rather gives Shepard direction.

I agree with Ieldra. The fact that Miranda is assertive and strong-willed is, amongst other character traits, what I like about her. She's a highly competent and independant person, and I prefer this to an individual who will blindly follow orders without question.

XO doesn't mean you have to take care of food suplies and whatnot imo, it's about leadership, and both Garrus and Miranda got it. It's just that Garrus got his team killed due to misjudgement, he won't even make such a mistake again. That's why he should be XO in my opinion.

Hell if being XO is about doing the most jobs, Rupert wins by default.

"This is an outrage!"

I think Miranda makes an excellent XO, and I don't think Garrus would want the job anyway. A Turian as an XO on a Cerberus ship would be awkward to say the least.

I'd respect Miranda lot more if she ditched the cat-suit and quit shoving dat ass in my face, Straight woman here and all it does is annoy me.
