Were people this upset that they couldn't control who their XO was in ME1? Don't remember Pressly getting near as much grief.

i don't remember people making much noises about anything to do with Pressly, then they killed him off and suddenly he was the greatest character ever

Nah, he was a racist old whiner.

At least he didn't want a control chip in Shepard's head.

The camera doesn't focus on Jacob's ass near as much as Miranda's.

True, but it's still present. Then there's the other obvious stuff, like the shadow broker video. Shirtless sit-ups? Really?

But the outfit so tight you can see her navel, not so good.  Pure raging hormone service there.

Funny that this is always brought up, yet no one ever rages on Jacob who wears an identically 'revealing' outfit. In addition, his ass also have significant screen time.

Actually I have brought that up in other threads (As well as Samara's, Thane's and Jack's) Perhaps I don't mention Jacob quite as much as Miranda because 1) he doesn't sit on my screen as much as Miranda does and 2) I admittedly play male Sheps, so I have not done a playthrough where Jacob ends up shirtless.

But I have joked that Jacob only needs a cape and cowl to be "Cerberus Man, Champion of Humanity!"

If I had drawing skills I'd totally draw that right now. That's awesome. Shirtless with the customary spandex with underwear ontop getup, cape and a cowl. With a big C tattooed on the chest.

But you can hardly even see anything. It's not a close up, the resolution is fuzzy and it's just a tiny vid among dozens in a DLC package. It's not shoved in your face and the video doesn't really strike you as sexual. All you think is "okay so Jacob's doing sit-ups."

How can you be wasting good complaining on Miranda when there are important things like the character creator that so desperately need to be complained about.

Understanding Miranda in 2 steps:

1. "I'm always right."

2. "That can't be right."

How she decides she's all of a sudden Shepard's main assistant. I'm playing through ME2 again and she says to Jack, "I'm Shepard's second-in-command." Even though I'm mostly full-Paragon, I'd renegade interrupt that right there and say," Actually, Garrus is, because you know, he helped me defeat Saren and he doesn't work for Cerberus." And then slap her. B**** needs to learn her place on my ship.

I couldn't agree more.

Silly man creatures with your fragile sensibilities. Ah, to get so worked up about a position that means exactly nothing. Not even a "The commanding officer is ashore. XO Lawson has the deck" to bolster your argument. Yes I'm sure you were so annoyed by that one line in that one scene about that one thing that is never mentioned again and has no practical game significance whatsoever. So annoying!! How dare she!! Does she know whose ship this is?!! I don't see her name on it!! It's my name!! Mine!! Look, it's written everywhere, great big C's! C, for Commander! Commander Shepard!!

Miranda was in charge of the Lazarus Cell before Shepard 'woke up'. So, now she's second in command of the Lazarus Cell....no biggie.

@Nightwriter: Personally I find it irritating because she's starting a fight where there doesn't need to be one by holding her "position" over Jack.

There really should've been a STFU renegade interrupt right there. I mean really. I say this as someone who likes Miranda.

yeah I didn't really like having Jacob and Miranda popping in during debriefing of recruits when they obviously have issues with them. I'd much rather have Garrus as my right hand man.

"But you can hardly even see anything. It's not a close up, the resolution is fuzzy and it's just a tiny vid among dozens in a DLC package. It's not shoved in your face and the video doesn't really strike you as sexual. All you think is "okay so Jacob's doing sit-ups.""

yeah if you want Jacob's objectification to come anywhere near Miranda's have the camera lovingly pan up his shirtless abbs while you're not even romancing him. I can't believe they shoved Miranda's ass in our faces during her Loyalty Mission dialogue. Honestly, if I wanted to see that I'd romance her, otherwise KEEP IT OUT OF MY FACE I'm not interested mr camera-man, this is loyalty mission dialogue! Do not want, save it for the romance scenes!

But also I must say guys things like 'woman needs to know her place' her place? Honestly? Next time you feel like typing that, stop a moment, take a deep breath and just don't type it.

Jacob's outfit is just as annoying (as is Femshep's apparent inability to not hit on him)... but Jacob also seems to be the least-liked squadmate. Miranda's a much better character, so that's why her outfit comes up as a common problem; there aren't many other things to criticize.

Yes. Plus the fact that her outfit detracts from her character. It's all very good to use attractiveness strategically, only (a) we're not in a situation where that would apply, and (B) it's not subtle enough to do that job. The outfit and Miranda's "assets" get pushed into our faces in a way that "whorish" seems an appropriate term. I very much resent that, since Miranda is not that. The latest picture by Asakawa gives a much better impression. The dress fits the situation, it's very sexy, but not at all flaunting. It appears natural there. On the Normandy, Miranda should have an outfit that underscores her role on the ship and her competence, and in combat, she should have light armor. These comic book-outfits drive me nuts, not only on Miranda.

QFT, Bioware did so well with women combatant in ME1, it was really sad when they went backwards in ME2. I need to make a banner like "no high heels in combat for ME3"

Right because mentioning an AI in a smug tone to a Quarian isn't being snippet. Okay then.
