Right, downloaded the TS and am looking forward to try it once I'm finished with the game (which may or may not take a long time ).
I have built mods before using the NWN1 (Aurora) and NWN2 (Electron) toolsets, and have actually opened the DA:O toolset once - and it seems not to be that different from the former two... One notable exception being of course the need for a DB.
I installed the MSSQL that came along with it (which resulted in a hail of patches for the DB from Microsoft, but that's another story!)

My question is simple, though: Is using the DA:O toolset pretty much like using other "BioWare related" toolsets, or are there things I must expect to "learn from scratch"? I noticed quite quickly that the .mod extension I'm used to seemed gone... Am I right, or did I just look in the wrong directories (\\my docs\\bioware\\dragon age\\mod)?

yes there is things you need to learn from scratch because they haven't been available in other toolsets. the build process for level/area is diffrent but i wouldn't call it from scratch. some prior knowledge is usefull but there is alot new to be learned.

I dont know.. better be prepaired to temper your expectations on what you may or may not be able to pull off. I think i'm a decent NWN2 modder (most of my work is on respective PW's though, not too much is on the vault) and I cant for the love of anything get lighting in my exteriour areas.

Off course it's possible, but it requires something I dont know yet. It's at least not as user friendly as NWN2 is with a standard lighting set in the area so you can actualy see what you're doing.

I've had more than one headache because the DA toolset doesnt give me any lighting at all, and everything is sooooo dark.
