While I agree that the horns don't really work in the universe established in Origins, they do look pretty cool.

You mean the universe that established that darkspawn born of Qunari broodmothers become ogres... who have horns?

I like the look too, but it's a huge visual overhaul. I can understand some thinking it's over the top.

Ogres are monsters, born of monsters. Qunari were just another race of humanoids, adapted to their environment like elves and dwarves. It makes no sense that they would have horns. What evolutionary purpose could they serve for highly intelligent, upright mammals?

Come on shorts, you have to admit this is purely about amping up the visual style.

Draenei are blue space goats with tails. I fail to see the similarities.

They look like they seriously ripped off WOW. Now all they need to do is make stupid dance animations

It may as well as be. But what you must admit is that it still fits quite well and that's what is important.

Yes, because WoW invented the first race with horns. :wizard:

Nah it does state in Origins in one of the codex's no idea which one that, or maybe Awakenings, that Qunari Broodmothers produce Ogres. I had the same problem at first til I realized it was set to have some Qun with Horns.

Humanoids with horns was new 50,000 years ago.

I don't have to admit that, since I clearly disagree. Don't say "you have to admit" in any conversation. It's irritating. You have to admit that.

You might as well say they're ripping off devils because they have long horns as well.

Sure.  I just really don't give a damn about visual continuity.  At least not nearly as much as the people up in arms over things like the Qunari horns or Isabela appear to.

The fact that WoW was used as the primary source of being "ripped off" shows how dumb you are to believe that WoW has any level of originality in and of itself. Nothing is new or original...but the DA Universe is a nice well thought out place IMO

He has a point though. The Ogres are Darkspawn Qunari, and should have more similarities. Though I support their overhaul anyway, it makse them more distinct from the other races. It says just from looking at them "This is a completely different culture", because the Qun is far different than the worship of ancestors or the Chant.

They also gave a legitmate reason for why you never saw a horned Qunari in Origins. They could have just said "This is the new look, they always looked like that. Suck it!", but they didn't.

No they are ripping off WoW because they look too close to another race in a another game. Seriously isn't anyone creative anymore?????

I don't really see the resemberance of the World of Warcraft's Draenei, who are a big blue skinned space faring race with Russian accents, no horns and weird things coming out of their chins, and Dragon Age's Qunari who are a griant race of bronzed skinned warriors sometimes with horns.

But on a side note, wasn't this conversation ripped to sheads back when the Destiny trailer first came out?? Posted Image
