call it Dragon age Urban legend

I've read some pretty weird justifications for fan-rage in my time on the internets, but "I secretly helped develop the game" takes the cake.

the model, like all of the body models was clearly a compromise.

Didn't Mary Kirby say that the design really was a compromise? IIRC there were a bunch of designs kicking around, and while nobody  liked the version eventually chosen for DAO nothing else polled better among the design staff, since all the other designs really bothered some people.

Edit: Wonder if they used IRV for the poll.

Personaly I'm more interested in seeing this new race the 'Fex' that David meantioned at the PAX video Q&A session (lest I think it was at PAX)

He mentioned that the Fex exist.  They won't be appearing in DA2.

I love how Bioware do these things.

Dinosaur David: I already told you guys about the AWESOME SUPER SPECIAL INCREDIBLE CHOCOLATE AND CHANTILLY race that we develop, the Dhiros? Aren't they super COOL and AMAZING?
Upsettingshorts: *appears with his sailor clothes and licking candy cane* Yes mister Gaider, when we'll see the Dhiros?
Dinosaur David: NEVER.

Image IPBImage IPBI like that they've clearly thought about the world beyond what we see in the games.  I mean, if you ever actually look at the map of Dragon Age's world (at least, that continent), there are sooo many places we know almost nothing about.

I've been dying to know this;  where does the term "Dinosaur David" come from?  I've been seeing it around here for a while now.

I created it.

...I forgot why, I just... did.

Sorry anyone that had a brain did not like star wars 1,2,3. They rather wasted their time in hope of getting something in return for their money.

So basically you are telling me the Qunari don't have Horns in origins was because of some designer's Incompetence ?

OMG they made a REDESIGN! besides, how much qunari did we encounter? Sten, 2 mages when we fought marjolaine, a merchant in awakening. the qunarie mercenaries dont count, they wore giant helmets. qunari sometimes remove their horns so you cant be sure that the helmet warriors don't have horns. thats 3 qunari. +2 if we add those Sten sees in the fade. However, some qunari are born without horns and everybody accepting the qun becomes a qunari as well no matter of the race.
The bottom line is: Just because we only saw hornless qunari in DA1 doesn't mean that theres a Lore-conflict.

Image IPBImage IPBIf you're talking to me, then no.  I'm telling you that a possible reason (that I think likely) that Qunari didn't have horns in DA:O (namely a few enemies and Sten) was because of limitations regarding the helmet models and body models, both of which require time, resources, and money.  Lore wise-Sten not having horns makes sense, and it makes monetary sense (from my non-developer perspective) as well.  Why would they bother to give Qunari horns in Origins if they didn't have the money to throw at it (and somehow, I don't think any game developer EVER has unlimited funds to just throw around like confetti)?  Sten is one companion (again, without horns which makes sense based on his story), and how many other qunari do we see?  A few mercenaries that we fight is all that I can remember.  It wouldn't have been worth it to invest the resources into making horns for the qunari when they had other stuff to do.

First off, it's not a rip off of Wow. If they resemble anything it is gargoyles from disney's Gargoyles. Further more, the redesign makes the race more distinctive , as it was original. It also supports the canon entry for the orge.

helmets? now that you bring it up. I'm sure the Quanari have appropriate helmets for those horns. I mean Why would they wear Human style helmets and armor when they have their own style of armor, much to their liking and comfort

Really, people, why keep talking about their horns when there are parts of they anatomy that are so more interesting?

Like their noses.

Image IPBImage IPBI doubt they'd need helmets at all, actually, since their horns are probably quite hard.  Unless they're born without them, like Sten.  In which case, they would use a human sized helmet.  This is a case where the fact that this is a video game takes precedence; technically, a dwarf would not fit in human armor, but I don't want to bother sorting through the different sized armors.  It's hard enough to find shoes in real life that come in wide.

He was sent on a mission. he was simply born without them. he couldn't go back home unless you got his sword back.

Most likely Qunari aren't told by the Arishok: go to wherever and become a mercenary. those qunari rejected the qun. since qunari equipment is part of their religion (ask sten about his sword) we never  saw their typical helmets yet (if they have some what i doubt, those horns should get the job done).

sten wasn't banished by anyone besides himself, because he lost his sword. (but you can get it back for him and he says he is going home)

The Qunari rejecting the qun cut of their horns.

To be fairer, there are quite a few intelligent people that liked the prequels. I know some of them. I also like, Cobra, how you simply reworded it when I called you out on calling people retards, implying that you think mentally disabled people are stupid.

Not 'himself', actually. As far we know, Qunari soldiers that return their home without their sword are killed on the spot. Of course, he may be overreacting.
