Then what about all those other Qunari we meet in the fade that didn't have any horns either? Were they special as well? It has to be explained not on some wiki, but rather in the story itself. Maybe Qunari DLC or expansion would fill this Void.

It's clear you will not be happy unless and until there is a Qunari DLC.  You've made this same comment, or one very like it, many times now.

Some Qunari have horns.  Some don't.  Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

Lobby the devs for some Qunari DLC if you want - but maybe wait until AFTER you play DA2, and see what you learn there.  Or, you know, just decide horns are not for you, and don't play it.

Either way, this thread has long-outlived its usefullness.

Because I know they are giving them horns not for the story but rather to "make them Look cooler". its just a poor excuse. Do horns really make, you look cooler? I think it makes you look like a demon and we need to kill it. Especially if you were someone within the chantry. Disagree if you want I just think its weak to say they couldn't have horns because we didn't have the money, designer flaw or whatever the hell you want to call it. ill call it laziness.

Image IPBImage IPBThey didn't.  They did say that Qunari broodmothers produce Ogres, and Ogres have horns.  Given the lore, that makes sense.

something that is not well thought out, is in fact rushed out and gives me anxiety.

This may have been mentioned in this thread but I do remember saying they had concepts for horned Qunari during development for DA:O but scrapped them. I forget where this was mentioned.

Given the fact it's never stated in the lore that they do and given the large amount of Qunari we encounter have no horns and no sign of horns despite the fact most apparently do, I think it's fair to assume that Qunari weren't intended to have horns in Origins development.

So how do we explain the countless other genetic and physical mutations witnessed between the races and their Darkspawn counterparts? Prior to the Qunari redesign I saw it more pratical to assume the horns were just another mutation rather then a hint that Qunari have horns.

They've not given them tails, but they've redesigned them too. They're being consistent with their inconsistency.

look the fact of the matter is, dragon age is THEIR world, THEIR brainchild and as such they have the right to change THEIR game. i understand that you disagree, and well im sure that that matters about as much  as if you got an A in english class to them. theres your real reason, it needs no justification.'
not trying to be a jerk, just being honest with you

(evidently i would get an f in english though)

Cobrawr is confusing me. he's saying that because of the horns we're not getting to learn about the Qunari's culture.

Am i the only one who thought we could learn quiet a lot about the Qunari by just talking to Sten?

Image IPBImage IPBAt the time, I didn't know Qunari had any horns at all, and I just assumed it was some type of monstrous transformation. I'm only saying that it fits with the new lore we've been given.  I'm not saying that the decision to give the Qunari horns wasn' t made after DA:O was completed; we may never know.  Personally, I think the need to make them visually distinct from humans (and let's face it, they looked very similar in Origins.  Several people didn't even realize Sten was a different race from the humans) took precedence.  I don't mind that as long as it makes sense within the lore and they don't contradict themselves.  All of the qunari we've seen in Origins didn't have horns, but based on the lore, that makes perfect sense.  Now, if they were saying that Qunari ALL have horns, then I would be upset.  Still not panicking, but upset.

Part of the problem I think is that they decided to make those without horns "special", which seems incredibly odd and out of place considering the large amount of Qunari we encountered in Origins who had no horns or no scars left from their removal (Unless you cut the from the skull itself you're still going to have stumps and scars). I understand this is a total retcon to make things look cooler, but I'd think it would have played out better for both sides if horns were the unique trait  and viewed as a symbol of power and revered or something. The way they did it just feels way to much like a total change rather then a simple addition to the lore.

The problem with that is that the horns are not the only change to the qunari. Their build is different as well. So Sten would not be per se recognizable to his DA:O model with or without horns.

When they were themor (the mysterious other race) on the old forum, early in the development of DA:O, they did have tails. We thought they were lizard people.
