Hello,
I've seen a few sporadic mentions of warping from location to location. but no mention of a solution.
The way this bug manifests is that I'll start running in one direction, intending to talk to an NPC or loot some remains. Suddenly, I return to the initial position as soon as I attempt to interact with the object. Usually, my next attempt will result in a successful event.
This is my second saved game-- the first died just after the tutorial, and I never noticed this issue during that playthrough. My second savegame I skipped the tutorial, and the warping behavior started immediatly, and doesn't stop on restart of the computer or game software.
SO, what I'm wondering is, could this be a problem with the save file itself, meaning the only way to fix it is to start over again? Or is there another solution somewhere I've missed?
Thanks!
Note: I'm running windows vista, and installed NWN2 platinum directly from steam and ran with no modifications.
Cheers

Played the steam NWN 2 Platinum Edition as well and encountered the same. My guess though is that it's just one of those bugs that never got fixed (just like the AI randomly stopping to respond and Quickcast working while polymorphed)
Note that I did finish the tutorial just for the sake of it so it shouldn't be related to that.

This happens on my system occasionally/rarely. I believe it's a bug hardcoded in the game (unfortunately). Since I still have nightmares from my Everquest days, I'm just waiting to get whacked by some super-tuff mob .. thinking I've run safely away.thiosk wrote...

More to the issue, putting 2 + 2 together, there also seems to be an issue with invisible triggers firing/not firing when they're supposed to. The two issues may be related, since sometimes a required plot-trigger might only half-fire .. and the game thinks it has but then you cannot advance the plot-line! Solution, make strategic saves in unique slots
If warping is occurring very frequently on your system, sorry the only advice I can think of is to restart or perhaps reinstall. anyone else?

I've seen this warping (rubber-banding) behavior happening most when controlling someone other than your main PC. I think it happens because when you run over a trigger a conversation line may be fired by one of the companions and the game tries to display it to you by forcing you back. If you are controlling the main PC normally and move around slowly enough that your party stays together then it seems to happen less frequently. Just based on my own experiences.
