Every time a cutscene playes, the game crashes for me. Not a usual crash, it just goes back to the desktop and can't be opened. I have to use the taskmanager to close it. This happens after a cutscene has played, this includes the scene of your spaceship every time you travel to a different planet, which renders the game basically unplayable.

I play the game on Windows 7 Home Premium. And it's bought from Steam, so it's not retail.

System:

AMD Phenom X4 3.4 GHz 965 Black Edition
Radeon HD 5850
4 GB RAM

first of all, have you done the usual? Setting the compatibility to XP and run as Admin?

The "Steam community in-game" might the problem, try running it disabled.

if you are still having problems then there might be no real fix for this however setting the affinity for the program to one or two cores may help however if this doesn't you'll need to disable the cutscene via configuration, just tick the "Disable movies" box.

I have tried compatibility, and whichever compatibility I select, the game crashes the very second I run it. Running as admin doesn't work.

I'll try the Steam Community thing.

I have found a solution to this. I made it from crashing every 5 minutes after cutscences or before. To where I got to the star forge without a crash... but I got a glitch from the patch I got from the Lucas Arts website. I forgot what I had to do in the files but it worked. The glitch though is when Bastila (evil version) was talking to the captain then I can run around the ship and it just stops there...

Ok I found it on a random fourm. Open your swKOTOR files and search for swkotor.ini open it and put in under game options this: Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1

Please do not dig up decayed corpses older than six months since last active; if this was absolutely the newest you could find, then start your own new message thread.

To anyone who looks at this forum in future, I had a problem with cut scenes every time. the very simple solution is to go to the movies file in KOTOR and remove all the movie files and store them somewhere else. without the movie files to load the game will skip the cut scenes and immediately load the game to the next part of the game.
Also this will not remove the videos that involve in-game characters. (visions and the like.)
