For those either to young or to old to remember, in January 09 we finally annoyed Mr. Gaider enough that he promised revelations regarding romances on Valentine´s day. What we actually got instead was the announcement that DA:O would be delayed for six months. I could not take it if this happens again for DA2.

There's a simple solution to this: Don't annoy the G Man.

Interesting, considering I never made such a promise. Marketing might have, but that's not me.

And I made no such promises this time. Nor would I, considering the timetable for information release is not under my control. But I suppose people are always free to read into things I say, post their speculation regarding it and then have others construe that speculation as fact. Such is the internet version of the telephone game.

Two points here: Anders has not been confirmed to be in this game, much less as a companion. Just because you've seen a screenshot of a character that somewhat looks like Anders doesn't mean that is actually Anders. Secondly: The same German preview that pointed out that Merill will be a companion also pointed out that Fenris was a "Force Mage" which is false. Are you going to really trust an unreliable source like this for your definative information?

I'd dig up your offhand remark about companion information if it was easy to find.  Essentially I said most details about companions shouldn't be released beforehand you said BioWare wasn't going to hold back just because. /telephone game

 Ok, not a promise as such, but you hinted at an upcoming revelation at a special day centered around hearts.
Because afterwards one poster (Imported beer I think) joked that it would be World Heart Day (23.09) and jinxed the whole thing.

Edit: I have to apologize. It was not Mr. Gaider who promised the revelation it was Mr. Priestly. But the general story remains true. Shortly after a revelation for the romances was announced the game was delayed for several months.

When I first played DAO, the only LI's I knew of was Alistair (came across a thread in the old forum where a dev decreed it or something) and Zevran (saw him lean forward to kiss a red-headed fem!Warden in his reveal trailer).

As for me wanting to know who the LI's are before or after, I'd like to be surprised, but that doesn't mean I'd enjoy the game any less if I knew who was romanceable beforehand. Heck, the only way for me to guarantee the LI's are a surprise would be to avoid these forums. I'm just starting to comment more after a few years of simply observing and contemplating, never participating, so am not sure I could stand being away from the forums simply to avoid a spoiler here or there. I know what can be done to avoid them if I so choose, but for now, I'm happy enough here, whether it's to lurk, post, or to annoy someone (all in good fun, of course. )

At this point in time one of the only things that has been promised to us is "Making of Dragon Age II" part 2. And in terms of companions, if we only look at official info released by bioware, pretty much only Varric has been confirmed as a permanent companion. Remember, the info page is called "Characters" page not "Companions". For all we know, your sibling could die the minute you step into kirkwall, Fenris could be the "bad guy", and Isa/Aveline could only each be in half the game. Right now, the more we assume the more we will be let down.

To quell some worries the Devs did say we would get two of each class as companions. If we get more, Great. I do hope that 6 doesn't count family.

Most of people realized difference in reality of Real life and fantasy of Videogame's world. In this case Romance are just another sauce it's making game more fun and colorful it's addition to storyline, but If you don't like it then DON'T do it then, since it was optional option. Beside If you feel wrong like romance with fiction character like it's cheating on your REAL life girlfriend or it's was queer stuff like some crazy people married with fiction character from dating sim to you, that's your problem not us.

You could come with logical argument since many of people here mature, they got girl/boyfriend, life, job and family, but If you think the idea about flaming people through computer's screen, harassing them as no life nerd, without you face being seen your adress being known, will making you cool guy in Real life. No, it doesn't make you any cooler.

I don't mind surprising or being blind and gone dark without learn any information at all, and even there is no word from developer. I'm sure they'll many leaks and rumors spread around Internet and Forum especially when it's near launch date.

I didn't expected it'll be that big the size of party in DA 2 seems much smaller than ME 2, then again I can't judge everything yet since BioWare haven't reveal everything yet.

So it's all on a timetable then? You hear that people? They've already decided when they're telling us all the things they're going to tell us before the DA2 release.

Though if thats the case for info releases... it might make sense to always have a timer going for the next one. People could stop bugging you guys about when the next thing is coming and just check the timer. If nothing ever comes aside from those times people might stop asking so much. I say might because I'm not sure how much faith I have in my fellow fan-boys and fan-girls.

Maybe there could be an 'Ask BioWare' thread (or box or something) too, people can ask questions to be answered every Tuesday (or some such) and the non-stupid ones could get answered.

EDIT: Hopefully before anyone misundunderstands entirely, I'm aware of the fact that I'm reading into something he's saying and speculating on it. This post was both serious and a joke. In a perfect world I wouldn't have to point out the joke half, but... well... c'mon. We all know how that works on here.
