Shale, if you have her, is an excellent tank for dragons. I'd suggest placing fire gems on her for the battle. For the rest, I'd go with ranged mostly. Although my first time to kill her I was nearly all melee, had to use some potions as well as mage healing then. But it worked too.

I *think* she causes fire damage, and on my second playthrough I think I'll use liliana in wade's superior drakescale armor thingy. And plenty of potions. You may want to get Yssarian or something - the greatsword you get from the spirit you can summon in the circle tower, it's basically a dragonslayer sword. Other than that.... good luck.

Would suggest going around level 12, just to be on the safe side, ability wise, but it's certainly doable at a lower level, probably at the expense of using more consumables. Use your best tank on Flemeth (Indomitable/shield wall with mastery are all good), use a warmth salve/fire crystal/heroic defense, make sure you are using either Dragon/Juggernaut armor and Yusaris is probably the best choice of a weapon, if going for a 2 Hander (there is also a fire resistance axe, its name escapes me at the moment).
Use Wynne to heal from a distance (or your main if he is a mage and decent at healing) and 2 characters with ranged attacks, preferably rogues, even if they don't have archer talents. Make sure you do not have healing cooldowns when your tank is mouth grabbed. Solid healing is probably the key here, no real gimmicks. Other than that it's a matter of time, as your ranged gets Flemeth's health bar down.

If you intend to use Shale as a tank, it helps doing Ozrammar first, as you have a chance to unlock his personal quest there, which yields some really good crystals, to bolster his stats, resistances and damage.

You think Flemeth gives you a hard time? Wait until you meet a REAL dragon...

Well if you have a mage in your team who can cast spells like cone of cold (i cant tell if its right name of that spell, i dont play in english) you will win any battle within 5 minutes
Dragon or not. I've killed Flemeth and big dragon near temple of Andraste wihthout any problem.

I found Flemeth easy, mind I was playing on easy difficulty.
I took Wynne as healer, Lilanna (or whatever she's called) as ranger with lots of bombs and poisions, and myself and Alistair as tanks.

Flemeth is very easy to "cheese". heroic defense, fire res pot and anyone with range can solo her with just lesser heal pots. if you have wades armor you can probably do her without pots. she will happily throw fireballs at you with your 120+ resistance and do like 1-3 damage a hit.

Did this at lvl14. Easiest way I found to do it was like others have
mentioned use Shale to tank and if you have any equip +fire resistance
gear. (I stupidly sold mine) Keep everyone else by her hut and dps from
range while either using Wynne or Mage (if built as healer) to keep
healing Shale. It may take awhile but this way only Shale will take any damage and she is a good tank for dragons (and in general)
