I tried the search options but couldnt find anything to help

I was new to Dragon Age and wasnt aware of the DLC Wardens Keep (i bought Dragon Age Complete) and had the Meteor Metal Ore encounter. Not knowing what it was for and needing bag space i later sold it. Now im 30 hours in and know the game i realise i made a mistake
I have been traveling around to see if i can find the merchant i sold it to but even my old game saves dont show it in my inventory

Is there anyway to find it again or have i messed up?

Are you on PC? There might be a way to re-spawn it using the developer console. Perhaps someone better versed in the console can elaborate.

You can do pretty much whatever you want on PC if you want to cheat.

The merchants always have what you sold to them as far as inventory goes. (swords, potions, boots etc). I am not sure about the ore though. I suspect the merchant would still have it if he is still alive and around. Try finding the merchant and search through the junk, buy back and every other field the merchant has.

Unless you sold it to a merchant in Lothering, then you wont be able to get it back because you can't go back into Lothering.

The starmetal ore is a quest item. You can't sell it. It is in a seperate part of your inventory unless you chucked it in an attempt to make more room. Quest items do not affect how much you can carry for future reference.

But it might still be in your quest items inventory tab and you just didn't look there. I hope it is. That would be like finding a c-note in your pocket you thought you'd lost.

Good luck!

You can't chuck quest items either, unless you use one of those PC cheats! Always bugged me being forced to carry around all that corpse gall even if, like you say, it has no weight. So chances are good the questioner does indeed still have his Ore hidden away.

If you truly are missing the ore, with the developer console, you can either trigger the encounter again or spawn Starfang into your inventory.

http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Console

After following instructions on how to enable the console, use "runscript zz_ran_debug" to trigger the encounter. Or use "runscript zz_starmetal_sword" to simply add Starfang to your inventory. It will add both swords to your inventory; so, if you want to stay in line with how the game is intended, you should trigger the encounter instead.

I never figured this one out - what exactly were you supposed to do with that ore? If somebody makes it into Starfang, then who, and where?

Mikhail Dryen, at Soldier's Peak. Warden's Keep? The DLC location up on the north coast where Sophia and Avernus eat raspberry jam sandwiches together.

ETA: After you clear the place out, leave and go back. Levi Dryden and his family have set up shop and you can give the ore to Mikhail.

He even says that he can make you items if you find unique materials.
