NO.... he will not because he must be in a future DLC for ME2. Make it happen bioware

I hope that we do get a chance to find him, the predicament in Bring Down the Sky is similar to Zaeed's Loyalty mission in ME2; save the innocents but bad guy gets away or kill the bad guy and the innocents die.

Someone actually suggested that if you let Balak and Vido escape then they might team up in ME3 possibly with Balak and his gang joining the Blue Suns (as they already have batarians in the organization) and you could literally kill two birds with one stone, really liking that idea.

I have my issue with seeing Balak. I bought a legal version of ME 1, installed it, downloaded the DLC and it didn't let me install it because of a wide spread bug without a solution for my case (and many others).

Most likely we won't, I have a few theories.

1. He was in DLC meaning only people who played it will have the option of seeing him (PS3 players probably won't see him at all I'm betting)

2. Spoiler alert>

You can kill him at the end of said DLC so again if your Shep killed him you won't see him again

End Spoiler Alert

So some of the developers may feel it is not economically viable to release future content involving him since only a select number of players would be able to use it.  I do understand that people do multiple playthroughs but again only people who completed "Bring Down the Sky" can have access to it and even then you must take the Paragon route and they may prefer that the content be playable in some form for all Shepards..

That's a great idea for a chain of side-quests. Go all over the galaxy first taking out the assistants then killing Balak/Vido

They could be cheap about it and say Balak died in the arrival...He was one of the 305000 that died when you destroyed the relay.

Nope, he has a rather serious case of lead poisoning.

Casey Hudson said that every (major?) character from the series would probably show up in the game, I doubt they would leave him out.

Once Balak hears about what Shepard did to that Batarian system he'll be one of the first to take charge and if he's still alive in your game then he's going to go after you or the Alliance I bet.

EDIT: I'd say my idea is a really good one because people who haven't played the DLC will still have to fight him just he won't know who Commander Shepard is. As for the people who killed him though I'm not really sure, maybe they still get to do the quest and fight different Batarians but they don't get the conversation and cutscene/boss with Balak and instead must fight other Batarian extremists or something.

Maybe in Balak's extra cutscene he is standing on a staircase with heaps of Batarians and blows up some explosives around you or something...I dunno.

What is with people reviving old threads? Are they using the search bar just for this purpose or something?

I didn't even notice it was an old thread lol, and I have no idea why someone revived it.

I suppose it's worth a bit of discussion still though.

Why should I even want to meet him? I told him that the next time I see him, he's dead.

Canon is Balak being killed, so at best a side mission or news announcement.

Before EA I would have said probably, as things are currently I doubt it.

To have another show down with Balak would be neat but I'd like to take away his advantages this time.

Actually with or without Balak, I kind of expected more "Batarian rebellion" attacks he talked about in ME 2.

I'd be fine with a confrontation between you and a Batarian task force (the Hegemony also incorporating mercs with the soldiers) over your (forced) actions in Arrival, with the boss being switched out for Balak--accompanied by special dialogue--if you played Bringing Down the Sky.

That would be the way to go with it...good idea.

Hope so. I remember Shepard making a promise to nail him to the wall.

Hope not, tbh. Enough secondary characters have already been shoehorned into ME2; the game should focus on telling a good story with a few character appearances where appropriate, not throwing past characters at us for no other reason than fanservice.

I kind of hope so. He was the most interesting Batarian I've ever met, despite his armor. It's all in the tattoos.

You let a terrorist who would kill millions go free to save a few hostages. Face it, you don't get second chances like that in real life.

If they make it an option to kill him in ME3, fine. But I stand behind my decision to kill him the first time.

This is totally going to become another "OMG PARAGONZ!!!" thing though.
