This seems like the most pointless waste of time, money and effort ever (except the voiced protagonist of course). Seriously: "you can now play the game with the character you've already completed the entire game with but with some extra features we deliberately withheld from you the first time", uhhm...okay...

I'm 99% sure slimgrin was implying that you are already begging.

to many other tho it is not pointless

indeed, it was not-pointless enough that it was re-added into ME2 at the end of the developing cycle because enough fans asked for it.

does that put things into perspective?

oh and thanks you BT...I'm tired

Why did they ask for it? What's the point?

because they like it, because they dislike starting from zero each time, because they get attached to some of their characters, because they think one grind playthrough is enough and now they want to focus on permutations

there is no point in me trying to make it appeal to you, it would be like explaining color to a creature without eyes. Suffice to say a LOT of people want it

I believe it hurts roleplaying but enhances gameplay. It was fine for ME2 because that was what it was going for anyway. I hope that's not what DA2 is going for. And I don't know whether I'd sacrifice the former for the latter.

But yes, devs, throw the poor guy a bone, wouldja?

Games with RPG elements always have a slow start as far as gameplay is concerned. Your character knows maybe 1 or 2 abilities, and that's just very boring if you've done it before.

How would it hurt roleplaying?  Being level 50 or what have you will make you a wrecking ball throughout the game,  but,  I don't see how that strips away the character's ability to make choices.  By a similiar vein I would suggest playing the game at all a second time hurts roleplaying because you understand the consquences of choices that you've already made.

what angelic said

also since it is optional and you feel it hurts YOUR roleplay experince then simply do not use the NG+ feature.

Everyone wins

I disagree that optional content can be half-[donkey] just because it's optional. If it's in the game, I expect it to have some degree of quality. That said....

Dear developers,

crimzon is a nice guy. He's followed BioWare for years and is generally positive and a pleasure to have around. He has this thing about NG+. I don't understand it myself, but fans are not required to be moderate in their likes.

He's already pre-ordered the game and he's never said that if NG+ isn't in it that it will stink, that the devs must be evil/lazy/greedy, or that he'd cancel his order. He just really, really, really wants to know.

If you could find it in your heart and scheduale to possibly release any information about this feature - whether it be 'yes,' 'no,' or 'please be patient as we haven't decided' - I am sure he'd be very appreciative.

Thank you,
Maria

Hey, don't look at me. It's possible that I could care less about this feature than I already do, but I find that hard to believe.

I like NG+ for a variety of reasons. One, the tutoring section of games always sucks- it's way too long and if you've played the first game you have some idea how everything works, if we are not given the opportunity to blow through the tutorial I would like to have a chance to play with some of my new abilities. I don't need baby steps.

Two, as has been stated, I have spent more hours than I am comfortable to admitting playing the original, I have created a character mined and stripped the first game world of all it has to offer, and it's nice to have some recognition of that. Reward me; I deserve it. I am connected to my character that I am asked to give up in the second game, ease the blow with some swag or some warden momento. And, when I play through the game again I like using my first character and not having my previous efforts erased.

Three, to the ruining gameplay argument, how? The enemies in the first pretty much leveled up with me, so I just have more ways to play the game.

I like NG+, it adds replay value to my experience, but it doesn't contribute anything to the game. Other than replay value that varys between many degrees, so if we get it I'll be giddy, but if we don't I completly understand why.

come on Gaider.....listen to Maria!

and aside from the warm and fuzzy feelings Maria gave me.... you know what kinda gets me is, why the silence?

I mean other purely metagaming features are usually revealed or answered about rather freely once permission is given by marketing and branding. And I understand why some of those features need to remain kind of a secret.

so at this point either

A: the devs do not want to talk about it not even to say " we are working on it but we do not know if it will make the cut". But is this is the case then.... "why"? I doubt they just want to be mean and NG+ is no story spoiling feature.

OR

B: Marketing and Branding flat out said "no, do not say anything about it". But again.....why?
