Looking forward to all those game play fixes.  I'm using Steam, so don't want to apply those hotfixes that might mess with Steam stuff.  :crying:

annoyingly (for us) the only answer you will get is when its done or silence. Bio will have daily builds but they have to test the fixes find if anything is broken by the fixes and then fix them. Look how long nwn was patched for and it still has the odd bug, just hope we get close to that level of support.:)

I

f you don't want steam to auto update right click on doa's icon go down to properties then the update tab and change it to never auto update.

This is why I love Stardock games. For instance, on their Galactic Civilizations forums, the developers (and even the company president) are present and provide constant, open feedback. They also advertise and link to their beta patches on the forums and provide tools for people to report bugs. It's so darn refreshing. This silence here is annoying.

It was not always like this. Since 2002 I'm member of the BIO-boards and was always pleased by the way, devs, programmers and moderators took care about our problems.

But this here is a new forum and perhaps the customer friendly way has perished with the old board?

I'm still waiting for a fix after 1.01 killed my game.

Silence from whom? This community forum is extremely noisy. You may want to notice that these are social forums for fans. Official support of the game is provided by EA ( or not as the case may be ) elsewhere.

As for Stardock, it's a two bit company (less then 50 employees) with a small portfolio, they can no doubt offer support all day on a game that's been running for years.

If you are impressed by titles then cool, but a company president and director is whatever he calls himself. I'm owner, operator and managing director of two companies (4 if you include my dormant ones ) It's not that big a deal (although I expect I have more turnover than Stardock )

I'm not too sure what you guys are talking about. The Bioware Dev's have been posting multiple times per day since the games release. Maybe you are just missing the posts or something.

This will help you out. It scan's the boards for all Dev Posts and puts them in a easy to read / follow format.

I'm sorry, it did make me smile that you said Stardock offered better communication the Bioware/ EA because they are a 'two bit company'...

Do you really expect less from a massive rich corperation then a smaller outift?

Thats a sad indication of the times we live in.

don't get me wrongly but I find subjects like these simply useless.. Not like you will get an official response from developers and the ordinary user knows as much as you (nothing about it) ;-)

Smaller companies can often offer better customer service simply because they don't get the heavy volume of customers that big corps get. They can do more one on one type of feedback.

I think a good lesson here is that maybe we need to wait a day *after* a patch comes out for DAO to see if it actually does things better or worse or whatever? Just a thought anyway.

And whre would that board be? When I try to join the EA boards I am getting redirected to these boards...
where is the official EA board?
All I can do over there is fill out a form or browse a handful of topics wtih known issues...
