I'm thinking of creating a totally DPS / AoE mage.  Then put Morrigan on CC/heal, Alistar tank, and Lelianna ... umm, for the ranger/bow/lockpick stuff.

Any recommendation of specializations and spells/talents for all the party members?

champion/templar specs have good abilities for tanks if you max them out.

ranged rogue, i went assassin and duelist for the dex and damage boosts - the skills in those trees aren't so great, sadly.

I would put all my mages with spirit healer/blood mage for the bonuses if i'd managed to unlock blood mage.

for your main char mage i suggest u take the fire tree till fireball(that spell is handy to stop a big group) and let morrigan take frost tree, since she already starts with 2 points in it, then go the mind blast tree in spirit, couse Telecinetic weapons will greatly enhance your groups melee dam. and crushing prison is simply wicked to take out those pesky mages, take some single target spells like drain life, drain mana and maybe lightning bolt, let morrigan take the hex tree, those spells will make handy CC against melee boss(hex of misdirection just rules!) i also can suggest the glyph tree for your main couse there are ore then eneugh times that u are on your own, and some CC is handy then(paralyis glyph is handy early on) also take the heal spell, just in case u are out of potions or u want to hasten someone recovery.

As for specializations, go blood mage/arcane warrior for your main, if u do that, make sure u ad Rock armor also to your spells, helps alot. u could take either AW or Spirit healer for morrigan, since she already shapeshifter(don't max that one out, worthless) there is much speculation going on about the AW class, since it seems to be quite overpowered. Alistair u should lvl as a full 1h/shield warrior, and add champion as 2nd spec. just make sure he has much health.

and lelianna, go dual-wield and ranged with her, i suggest the 3rd archery tree since scattershot is really handy later on(u will be hit by it much yourself on higher lvls) max her bard talents out and whatever dual-wield tree u like as wel as her rogue trees, get Coup de grace, since it works great against frozen targets. 2nd spec depends if u wish to enhance her melee powers, otherwise get ranger, since pets are rare in this game and they do come in handy :)

As melee back-up i'd suggest Sten, since u get him early and he can wear heavy armor early in the game, his 2h weapon styles also come in handy in a fight where u get stunned much(The indomable stance works wonders then) and with a good weapon and your own Telecinetic weapon enchant he can ravage ppl fast! since he gets only 1 spec, i leave the choice open to u,beserker is handy but champion might be handy if u Gave Alistair another spec. also inportant is that u give all your melee weapons a paralyse rune , since this will save u spells and make for easyer kills.

i hope this helps :)
