There was that one Tevinter non-mage we met with an accent. Let me see if I can find a clip.

Edit: Here. At around 1:36. I couldn't place the accent so I asked Mary later, and she confirmed he was Tevinter.

I hate you.

What? We've had a discussion about the pubic hair of Russian women on the first page. There's no saving the thread. Just embrace it and ride the wave.

I've already commented on how utterly inane that discussion was. Don't ride the stupid train to hell..

Based off of Greece/Rome how? And since it's not Greece/Rome that as little to do with it's accent.

Because the Tevinter Imperium is based on/inspired by the real world Byzantine, which was the Greek-speaking eastern half of the roman empire

Based off it's history and culture? But it's not the Byzantine. Teventair seems like a Russian Accent would fit much more. I'm not found of either. Just basing it off of point of view. And your rude side marks can end. It's not so obvious what they based it off of.

from the wiki.

Writer David Gaider has stated that the Tevinter Imperium is influenced by the real-world Byzantine Empire, heir of the Roman Empire.

Why must you prattle so? Russian accents... As unbelievably  sexy they are(Tali ftw). Would make no sense at all. Also dont deny yourself the logic. Remember a logic dose a day keeps the ignorance away.

I say give them Romanian accents or whatever it was the Baroness had, even though she was supposed to be Orlesian. Which would be fitting since the Tevinters are like Roman vampires.

It's not logic. Greek is not fitting for a mighty Blood Mage/Slavery country.

Those comparisons David Gaider made between Thedas and their real-world equivalents are not absolutes. The Qun is not Islam, and the Qunari don't look like Turks, and they don't speak with Turkish accents - yet they are described as the Ottoman Empire of Thedas.

That Orlais resembles France and Orlesians do speak with a French accent isn't in of itself a pattern either.

Essentially, they take what inspiration from the real world they wished and discarded anything they didn't want to take. So, until we actually hear a Tevinter accent, it may even be Korean for all we know. Their comparison to the Eastern Roman Empire clearly reflects their relative political situation and history, and doesn't necessarily have anything to do with cultural, ethnic, or linguistic similarities until they tell us it does.

I'm sorry if I came off as rude. That was not my intention and I apologize. But look at everyone(most everyone) commenting their confirming what Tevinter was based on. A primarily greek speaking empire how can you deny that this makes sense?
