Because (purely on “historical” ground) I can justify using the American accents here – Like they oppressed the native population (elves) and used an atomic bomb (Magic for sinking the Arlathan) during the war.
See - It was done using your “famous for” logic
P.S No offence to People from the States – I am merely trying to show the main flaw of “famous for" reasoning.

No, there isn't. I just didn't know that it was inspired by Venice. I assumed, based on the accent, that it was based on one of the old Iberian kingdoms.

Based on what I've read about Arcanum on Dragon Age Wiki, it seems to be a mostly Germanic-inspired language with a few Romance-inspired words thrown in.
