So I'm trying to set up a trigger to initiate a conversation, but it's not triggering. Literally nothing happes. I put the script the wiki told me to in the script area of the trigger. I'm not sure If I have the variables set up right- I have the override dialogue one filled in and speaker
any thoughts? is quite frustrating
thanks!

Have you tried an already availabre trigger called "gen00tr_talk" (look for it in the palette window, it is under the _Global folder)?
Once placed on your area, you only need to edit the following variable:
TRIG_TALK_SPEAKER = Tag of the NPC initiating the dialog

yeah- I put it in and it switches the variables and everything, still nothing happens though. It simply doesn't trigger

Does your creature have a conversation defined?
Anyway, maybe the first thing you should do is check that the trigger script is running. There could have been a problem exporting any related resources and the trigger could not been woriking. Can you verify it using PrintToLog()?
