I didn't think about this so much the first time through so it's not really my argument that I thought of, but I've seen someone criticizing the lack of interaction between the squad.  Nobody talks to each other, aside from Miranda and Jack or Tali and Legion arguing.  Grunt, Thane, and Garrus might as well be stowaways, and probably wouldn't even realize each others' existence if not for going on missions.  It wasn't really there in ME1 either, but ME2 was all about building the super-special team.  I mean, Grunt says he thinks he's meant to hate Turians, but this is never brought up despite you having a Turian onboard the whole time.  Or that Tali and Garrus don't comment at all about both ending up on Shepard's team again.  I'd just like to see something, because it's not so much a team as it is a Shepard-worshipping cult.

Yeah, I agree. They did that in Dragon Age, and it really helped keep the characters alive and in the forefront.  Mass Effect made the world more alive, but the squad could use some extra love too.

Maybe not do it as silly as Dragon Age, though silly is good - just that Mass Effect captures a different tone, normally more subtle and tongue-in-cheek when it does do humor. :bandit:

There is minimal squad interaction though. I noticed some back and forth when I had Jacob and Miranda on Omega, after clicking on one of those random observation boxes.

Yeah, there's a short banter between Tali and Garrus if you take them on the citadel, I which there had been more of that

I'd love that. Not that I don't like it as it is, but it'd definitely be great to show the relationships formed between the squad members.

There're a few banters here and there, unlockable only taking the right squadmates in the right place On Thuchanka for example there's one with Tali and Grunt in the Wrex's hall and one between Garrus and Shep if you take him to the Mordin's loyalty mission. A popular rumor says that ME3 will have more banters like the ones between Shep and Liara in LotSB... I really hope it is so, plus also some more interective dialogues on the Normandy off course.

Ooooh I hope there is more banter between Shep and the crew!  This would be great!;)

Well, when each squadmate stays in their own private compartment of the Normandy there isn't much room for interaction. Just an idea, they could put two squadmates, say Tali and Garrus, within earshot of each other on the ship and when you're talking to Tali, Garrus could drop in a comment every now and then. Unsolicited wisecracks may annoy some people, but they'd make me happy.

Or they could just bring back elevators.

Another nice thing might be have the squaddies moving around the ship... meeting them randomly in the not-private area of the ship, like the canteen in the second bridge, or the sleeping pods... we meet the squaddies in their workplace, but we don't know where almost 1/2 of them effectively rests...

that is a nice idea

If I could only add one feature to ME 3 it may well be this to having more banter/interaction between squadmates. This is one area where Dragon Age blew Mass Effect out of the water imo

Yes.  (Sorry. I had more to add but I haven't finished my coffee and am therefore still have asleep.  A grunt of agreement should suffice)

I really do hope that, in ME3, you will have a crew and squad that actually moves around the ship, interacts with each other, and banters while away on missions. I also hope that you can go back to talking to squadmates while on mission and get a small conversation going about relevant nearby POI.

It's things like this that, while ultimately "unnecessary" to making bullets go into bad guys and getting the story from Point A to Point B, make the universe itself a richer and more alive place to game in. It also goes really far in helping to make the player become even more attached to various characters.

In some ways ME2 was a step forward and a step back. It was great how crew would chat amongst themselves and you could overhear it. It was awesome how it would change as you advanced through the game. I hope ME3 improves on this feature.

But a huuuge step back was the removal of squad banter and mission-side squad interaction. I hope, again, that ME3 rectifies this and actually improves on what was there in ME1.

Party banter ala DA:O would be fabulous. We had some in ME1 (in the elevators, for example) and some of the snark and wit had me rolling. ME2 was decidedly lacking in that area.

I would love to listen to party members call out your LI on checking out your ass or something. It just adds that extra little bit of life to the game.

I agree with you , no squad mate interaction, but at least in ME1 you had the elevator chats among squad mates and you could turn to a squad mate as Shepard and the squad would react to you m
ME2 you have none of that you might have a chat window , if you bring the right squad member with.

Agreed. Banter amongst the crew, and also between certain characters and Shepard herself, would be wonderful. The dialogue and interaction between Shepard and Liara in LotSB was excellent, and I'd love to see something like that in ME3.

+1 OP. I couldn't agree more. A ton more simple stuff like Tali and Garrus joking on the Citadel about elevators would spruce up the game exponentially. On the ship it would be funny to hear stuff from Joker reporting on the crew interactions. Its so simple, and it would add so much.

Yes, we need more interaction in ME3. I loved the ME1 elevator coversations and the banter between Shep and Liara in LotSB. I would also like for squadmates to mention your LI when talking to you and for squadmates to banter with each other and to your LI about the romance. Dragon Age did this well and I hope we can have this in ME3.

At least, the absence of banters about the romances had sense in ME2 'cause your ME1's LI are far away from you and the ME2's are just the beginning of a new relation... but if you stay loyad to anyone from the previos games I'd really like to see some reactions/banters about the romances in ME3, and not just a funny insinuation by  Kasumi, or an odd lesson about interspecies sex by Mordin. They were both nice thouches, but still...

I also hope there is more interaction with ur team... but i hope Bio considers utilising more of your team mates during gameplay. the 1 thing i could never understand with both me1 and 2 was u had a large group of team mates but only able to have 2 run with you at a time. i find that lacking in the events running through the game as the story being a massive galaxy issue but when u go hunting u leave most of ur crew back at your ship scratching themselves.

About that, the SM was a nice idea, 'cause force you coordinate the whole team for once, even if you still have to bring with you only two squaddies.

everybody agrees. I always feel there is a lack of conversation between squad. if you ask me, that's enough. even DLC characters like kasumi, zaeed should interact like other squad members. we all just hope.

i agree that they got it right at the end of ME2 with the SM but during the game some missions could have more enjoyable having more than the standard shep+2 party. could have been some awsome firefights on just some simple side missions

I agree but I wasn't talking about ME1 and ME2 LI's talking to each other(I hope they will in ME3 though). I was talking more about how in Dragon Age once you start a romance, other party members will talk about the romance to the Warden and to each other. Like if you have Leliana and Morrigan in your party and they both have high approval then they will banter to each other about them both wanting the Warden(never happened to me but I know it happens) or if you play a female Warden and are friendly with Alistair then people like Morrigan and Wynne tease him about it. And other party members will just talk to the Warden about the romance. So stuff like that.

But yeah I'm dying to see some kind of banter between a ME1 and ME2 LI if they're both in our squad in ME3 or in general other characters talking about Shepard's romances.
