I'm in the prologue mission, the one where one escapes the Lazarus project facility. I find Wilson, make a boom, go down a slope, through a short corridor, then open another door on my left. Through that door is space. Space populated with crates, enemies, and doors, but definitely space. Walls, floor and ceiling are not present.

Yes, this does mean I can't walk across it.

Yes, I know I can reinstall. I really don't want to, because it's a Steam download that took way more hours than I was happy with.

There was probably a problem downloading whatever environment this is. I see two fixes: get a working one from somebody, or jump forward a little. Does anybody know how to do either of these?

Or, for that matter, see any other fixes?

Mobile graphics cards and intergrated graphics processors may not be supported and may not work at all or have performence issues.

You could try lowering settings to see if you can get it to run without graphics errors.

You could also try installing DirectX9.0c which is what the game actually requires. It will run, to some extent, with DX11, but 9.0c is whats needed. Win7 is capable of running DX9 and 11 side by side.

Since it's a Steam version, try Steam's file verification system. It won't be instant, but it should still be a small fraction of the time it would take to download it all over.

In Steam, right-click on the game and select "Properties." Select the "Local Files" tab and click the button that says "Verify integrity of game cache..."
