Recently finished complete Renegade run (two times I've got Paragon points there - during the dialogue after Collectors' ship, really don't know why, and for waking up Legion). It's worth it, sometimes Renegade answers are "cooler" than Paragon one, and, of course, Renegades have own reasons. But there were two things I didn't like: first, being an **** to own crew. Second, during almost entire game Renegade lines about Cerberus are about loyalty to this organisation - but not on the Collectors' ship, where Renegade says TIM shouldn't have been trusted and Paragon wishes to wait until the end of mission.
About "nonsense renegon and paragade" - my main char, for example, don't trust to either Cerberus or Council, became completely mad towards to the end of Horizon and don't like when someone threaten her (bye, Elnora) - it was enough to get rather sufficient amount of renegade points, even if in the rest of questions she's the nicest person. Nonsense?

I have successfully gotten 90% paragon and 60% Renegade, but the system isn't as clear cut as you might think. In order to understand how it really works, and as a result realize how meaningless the aforementioned percentages are, visit my thread here.

There is a link in the OP that goes to a post by Pacifien, which is more detailed.

Hell yeah! Playing renegade is the most I've had on ME1 and 2. Although you may have to feed off that dark energy to really enjoy it.

I don't find playing full renegade "worth it".

That said, I also don't find playing full paragon "worth it".

Each situation demands a certain approach, what that apparoach is, however, completely depends on how you view your character and their options.

One renegade option I simply am "forced" to use every playthrough is with Jack. I don't remind the situation exactly, but basically the option is to tell Jack she's not the only one who has went through crap and her response is "You know what? I **** and moan and you tell me to grow the f*ck up. I like that." (or something to that effect).

Why? Because I actually get the feeling that it is tangible character development for Jack.

As for a paragon action I simply take everytime is during Zaeed's loyalty mission: Punch him. Always satisfying for acting on his own and endagering both the mission, myself and the other team mate.

To tell a security guard that there's a bomb and he should run before it blows? Hell yeah it's worth it! I tend to play as paragon though.

It definitely matters what kind of RP run you're doing. I tried a full-on paragon and just couldn't get into it as much, didn't feel that character had as much energy as my renegade playthroughs. Although full-on renegade doesn't make too much sense either. I can see not taking any chances and leaving no loose ends, but why eliminate potential allies? Sometimes it is useful to have friends in "colorful" places.

It just seems more fitting for a badass space marine to be a tad more renegade, but *shrugs* to each their own.

I usually go the Paragon route, but honestly, there are some Renegade actions that just make sense. Shoving the electric thing in the mechanics back while recruiting Garrus and shooting that Asari who pulls the gun on me (while recruiting Samara) just makes sense (among many other decisions).

Last playthrough I did on ME2, I didn't worry so much about paragon or renegade. I just went with my gut feeling. I ended up being more paragon, but I certainly did rack up the renegade points. It was a lot of fun and felt more "real."

Renegade options are way better than Paragon. Like when Shepard is first introduced to Edi if you choose the Rengade options hes like, "Get that damn thing off my ship!"

I mix of both fits the story really well. I had a friend who did everything Paragon and that would just ruin it for me.
Nobody is going to be that much of a pushover in real life.

In ME1 I usually am full paragon with barely one bar of Renegade.

In ME2 I'm still full paragon but always have half or more Renegade, Renegade just seems cooler in ME2 as in the first Shepard just seems like a cranky dick.

I love that line, I really do. I also love Shepard's laugh at the end, or at least MShep's delivery.

this is how I play it - not actively worrying about filling up the bars but how I feel I would act- so though I end up Paragon sometimes I do push people out of windows and let Miranda shoot Niket

I think you should have at least one Renegade Shepard regardless of your preference. It's totally worth the experience.

That's why I play Paragade. I get all the best Renegade lines and interupts, barring a few dialog options, and don't have to feel like a complete jerk in need of a shower.
