On topic: fav DAO romance would be probably Leliana due to it being deliciously broken (the messed up coding resulting in character who'd actually still try after getting an --admittedly indecisive-- no on her first attempt; was totally unexpected and made her appear more like actual human than obedient NPC)

For DA2 no opinion so far; too little known and what is known doesn't sound very interesting.

Alistair but out of all Bioware LI's, Kaidan hands down. Alistair was very tolerable but a bit too boyish and sweet at times. Wouldn't have to be toned down a lot though, just a tiny bit to make a more beliavable character, more grown up. If DA2 is all about badasses then I'll just single it out.

My canon Warden who married Anora was confronted by Leliana as if they were in a relationship, suffice to say that after remembering all those conversations we had about how much she loves to kill people she has relationships with my warden slept with one eye open after that.

edit: on second thought Zevran can sort-of work as sample of that, i suppose. But i don't check Zevran threads much so dunno how many complaints along these lines he get, if any.

And to get back on topic, I like Isabela and there's a pretty fair shot I'll go for a f/f romance with her if the guys who are available just aren't doing it for me.

Zevran. Even with my fem noble who ruled with Alistair, I still had Zev on the side. I murderknifed Leliana every chance I got, and I left that witch Morrigan to brood in her little hovel. I mean, who doesn't get creeped out by that scene with Leliana staring at the wardern while he sleeps and talking about his butterfly lashes. Psycho! I don't care how she looks, crazy is crazy. Alistair was right on that one.



For DA2, we don't know enough yet. I like romancing males, and since we have no confirmations, I'll just say I wish I could romance Nathaniel or Anders! I loved both of them. Fenris has potential.

Guys probably didn't have as much a problem with Zevran since they wouldn't consider him as a LI anyway I guess. Also with all the political correctness going on you don't know what you can say and what not anymore.

Regarding the girls, I liked both.

Morrigan fit perfectly with my male mage's get-things-done, somewhat-self-serving attitude, although my Warden was still a good guy, and he helped persuade Morrigan that she needn't be quite as ruthless as she had been raised to be.

Leliana fit well with my optimistic, intellectual, powerful but kind female mage, although she was an atheist and anti-Chantry, so there was some tension regarding that issue.

As for the guys... my female noble warrior went great with Alistair, they had crushes on each other for a long time, but I held off starting the actual relationship because my character had enough on her plate. Also, she tolerated Zevran's flirtations, and she liked him, but she didn't have any notions of sleeping with him. She was always going to end up with Alistair, and sure enough, she's now the Queen of Ferelden.

That said, I'd give Isabela a go if Alistair's cameo involves reprising our previous visit to her ship.  He'd have to be drunk, exiled Al, though.  I don't think he'd go for it with a total stranger and he won't know it's still me behind the new face.

Yeah, i have just finished adding the edit about Zevran, occured to me he could be pretty good indication  I wasn't reading the forums before the first game was launched, was the background for his character known from the start, as well as that he's going to be the LI?

As for the average woman considering a man a pig simply because he agreed to have sex with her... no, i'd too think it takes more than just that. But on the other hand if the man in question had hedonism as one of his defining traits, then i'd expect that to result in considerable sexual history as well as active and frequent efforts to expand this record.

the fact that Isabela was very promiscuous is actually why I like the idea of her romance. If Bioware will not treat Isabela as a **** buddy then there will probably have to be, as the romance progresses, this interaction betweem her anmd Hawke about her being "exclusively" Hawke's woman...which I find extremely enticing. What can I say.... I'm a possessive guy

Maybe by other men.  I don't find promiscuity attractive in either gender, though I had a couple characters romance Zevran and it was sweet that it was his first "true love".

To the other poster who said there weren't threads criticizing him, I've seen numerous of those.

Alistair is the main reason I still play and keep coming back to this game after a year. I'm very much meh about all the DA2 companions, though. Maybe Fenris...but I don't want him to be another Zevran...or Carth.

Morrigan, I didn't even try to romance Leliana because...ugh...I just can't stand sugar-rush women.
Who's next? To be honest, I don't like any of the revealed female characters, Isabela and Aveline. Judging from the information BW has released about them I think they're utterly unsympathetic companions I'd hate to have in my group, let alone romance them.

I wish an intelligent neutral and experienced female mercenary looking like Fem Hawke would be available as companion, now that would be a character I'd really look forward too.
