Morrigan. I don't really care much about romance options in DA2, and not because they aren't Morrigan. I just get tired of how Bioware writes them. You just say a few nice things to the LI and then just before the final battle you have sex, then their dialogue ends and the character stops developing. And if you don't romance them they get almost no development at all, because there's the inevitable break point where they come onto you, you turn them down or insult them in  some way, and then they never want to talk to you again.

I'd rather Bioware just leave romance subplots out of their games, I think they detract from the experience more than they add.

Ditto, unless Bioware decide to do it good. But they've stated many times they don't want to make a love-sim.
So I doubt we can expect a good romance written story from them, because apparently a good romance written story = love-sim.

Not a lot of Zevran love out there.

Even though I preferred Alistair, I loved Zevran's romance, too.

In fact, I should just give in and admit I'm going to fall for whatever LI David Gaider writes.  It's inevitable. <_<

It's true.  David Gaider has a magic pen and an amazing insight into the kind of LI that I find attractive, and your right, it't inevitable.

I did like Bastila.   I teased her every chance I got.  Saying she looked like a Kinrath pup and cute when embarressed.  I loved both romances in KOTOR.

NO.    For me, the romances add a great deal of realism for me to the games and make me want to play them more often and buy the next game.
I like games like Fall Out or Oblivion but I still replay KOTOR, JE, ME1 more often, just because they have a whole story including love, betrayal and satisfying endings and that makes their games special.
Fighting with Kaidan or Alistair  is much more satisfying then fighting next to Boone or Veronica for me, because of the way BioWare incorporates the romances in their games.

edit - I would love to have them add to the romance - as you suggested, but I don't want them to ever remove them.  I'd like the dialog spaced out a bit better.  KOTOR (yes, that again, was great at the pacing.  I haven't played it since last year, but I remember Carth/Bastila  having things to say tothrough the whole game. Not every time I clicked on them, but spaced out throughout the game at a reasonable span and way more often than their most recent games.

Carth! That voice alone  Personally I think he should have been a LI for Revan either way. Ah well. That's where fan fiction comes in. Lolz.

My favorite romance in Origins was without a doubt, Zevran. Alistair and Morrigan follow, while Leliana is my least favorite. She was way too creepy for a majority of my wardens, and only my female Brosca ended up with her.

As for DA2, my male Hawke will most likely romance Aveline (if she's confirmed), not because Isabella is a "****", but because (and I'm assuming, here) Aveline seems like she is a strong woman with a more mature personality.

My female Hawke will likely first romance Fenris, unless Anders becomes a confirmed companion & LI (or Nathaniel). *crosses fingers* :D

Morrigan was the best really. She was beautiful + she had a unique/intresting personality.

DA2:

From those who I've seen so far, it's pretty likely that my Hawke is going to be single :P

Tamlen. What? There were no dark hair/dark eyes/difficult personality characters, and fiesty childhood friends come right after that in my list of characters I like in a romance. Sure, it was short and doomed, but that just meant I never had to confront his personality flaws and hey, I got to be the one with a dead boyfriend!

I'm not especially excited about romancing anyone in particular in DA2 because we don't know what dudes are going to be available and I usually prefer dudes.

I liked Tamlen as my Dalish boyfriend too :) and thanks for mods my fav LI from DA;O is Ser Gilmore, especially for my fem Cousland. For mage it was Cullen. After them was Zevran for all my elven characters ( females) and Leliana for my human male. DA2? Well, no one right now. For sure as a male Hawke will not romance with Aveline ( too similar to Jaheira in my mind) and Isabele, also Fenris is not interesting for me as an LI .

THANK YOU! When I ask my friends who they romanced, it's always "I didn't romance any of them". They're not really playing the game if they just go "Slash, slash, block, Oh this game's great, slash, slash, block, THE END, Oh it's s***!". The romances keep me coming back to the game after unearthing it from the organized mess that is my bedroom floor. Oblivion and Fallout are great and very addictive, but they don't share the.......warmth of Dragon Age. Especially Oblivion, you just don't feel part of the world, like there's nothing keeping you caring about what happens. Yeah, Fallout New Vegas is more connect-y, but Dragon Age just does it sooo much better. The Alistair romance was especially good becuase you could just so easily relate to him. But to answer the question, I can't choose, I love 'em all. Nearly every character was just amazing and lovable and huggable, (Shianni's my favourite character ever), and all the others just made me ooze hatred for them, (Isolde and Vaughn).

Concerning DA2, probably Merrill at the moment, unless she's not really a full companion. I doubt Cassandra will be a LI and all my hate is going towards Aveline, the bloody Chantry lover.

As far as Origins goes, I'm going to have to go with Alistair. Although I like Zevran much better in terms of character and looks, Alistair's romance was deep and well thought out, you actually had to work at it to get him to like you, and out of the four it seems like Alistair cares about the Warden the most. I also liked Leliana's romance, even if I didn't totally care for the character itself.

For DA:2, I'm going with Fenris should he be a romance option. I like the way he looks and his backstory should be interesting. Also liking Isabela as far as her character and looks goes, so its really who piques my interest in the game first.

Good thing about Bastila was that she was involved in the plot. Almost as important as Revan. I mean she saved him, then he saves her. Perfect love story imo. Well with exception that Revan left her after one year without even telling her why ... that was kinda downer.

Okay, just curious...why did you hate becoming Princess Consort?

Zevran. Unfortunately while I wanted to love the female characters, they just seemed to be to extreme either way for me to actually love at all.

Morrigan was a hateful witch who despised every bit of love and caring just for the sake of it. Her romance just seemed so artificial because she treated it like you two were together because the Warden recognizes her strength not because of love.

Leliana was so sickening sweet she was annoying. To oppose Morrigan's jerky nature they give you the complete opposite with a paragon of goodness. Even if you harden her she still says all the annoying "thank the maker", "I'm a chantry zealot" lines and it annoys me to no end.

Alistair would be second because while I did like him, Zevran was just so much more fun.

I have no clue who/how the romances in the DA2 are so I am just going with Isabela because I know she will be LI.

Yes, well in my universe KOTOR2 did not exist.  So Revan and LI grew old together traveling around doing whatever they wanted to do.B)
