Out of that santa's list of what could ****** you off, you missed something :P Well as samara said, "Another life. Another Time." Potentially, it could be after the reaper invasion, but don't plan on it :P

1) Council: oh Shepard, we didn't help you because we were so stupid but now we will be all good! (read - politicians should have more solid justification for own actions, even if it will be thirst for galactic dominance)

2) now when Shepard solved all our family problems we can go home (completely new squad)

3) VS (I need Kaidan or Ashley back, not the one character with different models and voice actors)

4) bad ending or another bad ending choice (Shepard sacrifices himself or LI sacrifices herself, Shepard sacrifices himself or several billions of people are killed and everyone hates him, LI sacrifices herself or her race is wiped out)

What kind of revelation or plot development would get you angry at how ME3 turned out?

For me it would be anything that put Shepard as some kind of chosen one, someone who was special from the begginning.

Also, I think explaining the origins of the Reapers might be tricky. The way they've been presented, as extremely ancient and mysterious, it is the kind of thing that can set really high expectations for an origin story. Maybe it is the kind of thing that is better left unexplained.

I think the developers have already presented the Commander as somekind of Savior. This was said right in the beginning of the trilogy when Udina says: "Is that the kind of person we want protecting the galaxy ?" Probably he's referencing to Shepard being listed as a potential Spectre but that would contradict Nihlus's statement that he was the one who put Shepard's name on the candidates' list.
This Chosen One aspect was pushed on a larger degree in the second episode for exemples when Miranda says in the introduction: "If we lost Shepard humanity might well follow"; when TIM says to Shepard "You're unique. Not just in ability or what you've experienced but in what you represent (...) you're more than a soldier - you're a symbol."; at the paragon ending when Shepard says "Humanity needs a leader who's looking out for them" (a leader looking out for billions of people, an entire race !). This continues in the trailer when the soldier says "If Shepard doesn't bring help soon there won't be an earth left to save".
At least this shows why the commander's family name is SHEPARD. It's a rather common thing in stories to portray the main character as some kind of Messiah, Savior or Chosen One and Mass Effect doesn't escape that but I can understand that some find these statements throughout the trilogy redundant.

What would ****** me off in ME3 is seeing:
-The consequences of my actions throughout the two games not causing big effects, positive or negative.
-Cerberus (or more precisely TIM) lowered to a too-secondary role given the fact that what it stands for (humanity) is attacked at its core.
-A too simplistic story.

Hanar controlling the cuddlefish!
Blast their Enkindlers. :P

Seriously though, I just want the game to be as polished as humanly possible.

I'm willing to wait longer for perfection, but dunno if not having that will ****** me off though, I'd feel more disappointed than pissed off.

No helmet toggle

No vehicle exploration on uncharted worlds with hazardous conditions (like ME1 but improved)

No squad armor

No elevators

Mission complete screens

PRESS F TO END MISSION

Teleporting from Normandy to Hub worlds

Hub worlds a flat big room with halls like in ME2

No Loot or stores with 3 things to sell like in ME2

Scanning/mining

not being allowed to walk on the presidium when the environment is already made like in ME2

If they try and give ME3 some kind of artsy fartsy ending that is not satisfying like not actually defeating the reapers or time travel or some kind of deus ex machina virus. Make it hardcore fight for survival, with fleet on fleet war.

Yeah, you said it.
And it would ****** me off if you can't have sex with samara.

HOLY CRAP

Ladies and Gentlemen I forgot what might be the most important thing.

We need to be able to properly romance Samara. No joke. No sarcasm. Im 100% serious. I forgot to put this in because it's more of a personal preference rather than being something that the game itself is doing wrong.

I always thought she was the most beautiful character in whole dam ME universe. If I can't romance her, I'm going to abandon my career/studies go study to be a game designer just so I can make a romance-able Samara.

Seriously. I want me sum Samsam

(man just look at her face....*melts into omnigel*)

:D

yup I'm in the same boat as these guys minus the becoming a game designer, Im not that dedicated. But I agree about all the gameplay issues.

- Not getting a proper character out of the VS, and instead getting the same character with a different voice and model. I romanced Ashley, I want Ashley dammit.

- Chosen One crap

- Time Travel

- An ancient, long forgotten civilisation that bent to the Reaper's might having left a weapon capable of defeating them.

I hated how when I went to romance Garrus it was, I want to do you pretty much. I liked how in me1 it was a little at a time and cute. I just hope Kaidans not too mad at me. He totally dissed me at the colony

If the origins of the reapers aren't explained, if we have some cliche ending like "oooo everyone survives and live happily ever after".

If it's not like the following:

I want ME3 to be an emotionally gut wrenching experience - the world (the galaxy) is basically ending, and if we beat them, we'll be the first to do it - so I don't want to get a Perfect! in doing so.

Furthermore, while a space battle is practically guaranteed, I want Shepard's team to execute the most important part of that final battle, but most importantly, I want Shepard to be forced into doing the last leg of that mission on her own. It would be appropriate since it's Shepard's story. And I want it to be the hardest thing she's ever had to go through, both physically and emotionally - out of sadism - because it would make sense that it would be that hard. I want to empathise with what's at stake and what the pay-off is... No matter how she beats the Reapers, the explanation might feel cliched, but it won't matter if the emotional/thematic side of it is pulled off well (e.g. like the Fountain, or Desmond Hume turning the failsafe key in Lost, or Aenea marching into St Peter's Basilica in End of Endymion). I expect a masterpiece of art - I hope you guys try as hard as possible to tug our heart strings with every weapon you've got: music, acting, level design, lighting, cinematography, editing, etc... I'm sure the story is already set in stone, but either you can tell that story in a way that just feels kick ass - or you could tell it in a way that takes our breath away and leaves us in awe and in deep thought over everything that's just happened. I'll be pissed off if it's not the latter. Actually, that's just harsh - I won't be pissed off, I just won't be amazed is all - I want to be amazed... definitely pressure :D

^This. Minor adjustments.

I agree w/ this. I'd like the ending to be emotionally charged and amazing.

Only one thing would really ****** me off to the point of not buying the game.  Multiplayer.  I'm sure it won't meet all my expectations. How could it?  But that's okay. Either way, I'm sure it will be a fantatic ride.

If the writers still haven't learned the difference between dextrorotatory dna and dextrorotatory proteins by the time the game is released, ME 3 is probably going to make me facepalm more than just a few times.

Actually.. and I am being serious.. fighting the reapers in space.
Looking at the trailer i can see ME3 as a bloody and harsh planet warfare. With reaper ships landing and bringing forth masses of cybernetic creatures to extinguish all organic life, though why they wouldnt just drop bombs from orbit i can't say.
But fighting in space, fleet on fleet.. thats just.. naaah. I mean a fleet of reapers couldnt be stopped by any other no matter how big.
So my hope is ME3 goes something like... Plan B reapers, allows only a limited amount of ships to transport into our space, Shephard manages to destroy the conduit with only a dozen reapers being transported and then it's a rush to keep them from recking too much havok on to the universe we know. Or something like that..

Conclusion: facing all the reapers and winning would ****** me off ;)

@fLoki, why can't we have the big space battle in space, as a backdrop/stalling action while Shepard does a crucial mission deep in dark space to try to turn the tide?

I'm not saying we cant :) Hell It would be epic. But not winning..
I am not trying to be a ****** or anything but that scenario would bring the story down.. I mean for 50 000 years, reapers have been doing this and nothing could stop them. If they manage to come in full force, without Shep criplling them beforehand (thats what i see, as his role in ME3 as i cant think of a better thing one man can do, past virus planting but thats just.. been done before) they would and should be unstoppable. If they are not.. then its just.. maaan.. what was all the fuss about.. we kicked their asses.
In my eyes that would suck..

IN SHORT: Reapers should be defeated but not in open combat.

EDIT: Even a dozen reapers against the fleet of all races would be an epic scene. And that one i could even see us winning with no foul play .. maybe :)

1) If you're forced to end the relationship with an LI or in the epilogue they break up with you.

2) One of your squadmates is forced to die and you don't have the option to save them.

3) Being forced to sacrifice Shepard as the only ending.

4) No squadmates coming back.

5) Previous choices don't make that much of a difference.

6) Too much of the game taking place on Earth.

7) Not being able to go to other alien homeworlds like Palaven.

8) Making humans sound even more special then they already do(I hate how they make out humanity to be the best race).

9) Not really plot related but if the game is too short.

This. This is my exact list.

@fLoki, Yeah, that's why I'm saying Shepard should do that "crucial mission" to turn the tide and that the space battle should just be a stalling action.  ;)  However we beat them though, it'll probably be somewhat cliched, but the details of how that works won't really matter as long as it's executed well (e.g. make that mission physically and emotionally harrowing).

This sums up my thoughts on the issue
