Maybe in the third game they can make Shockwave suck less by being effect on barriers.

If possible maybe add Throw, so that it could at least take the enemy to the ground and not only stagger for like a second.

Slam and Pull should remain the same as in ME2 though, IMHO.

When it comes to dps and sniping, the infiltrator in Mass Effect 2 is basicly a gimped soldier.
Even basic adrenaline rush actually beats assasination cloak.

Except that the cloak is more versatile: the infiltrator can use it to move to a better position without giving away her position, force enemies to cover (and if you've positioned yourself correctly, right into the crosshairs of your squadmates), and close on enemies for a point-blank shotgun blast to the head.

Of all the options I've listed above (and I'm sure there are more tricks you can use), forcing the enemies into cover is probably the coolest effect there is because it forces them to break combat, whether they want to or not.  If they're in cover, they're not shooting at you (or your squadmates, in some cases), which gives your team some valuable breathing room.

I don't have much experience with throw. My one Sentinel Playthrough I phased out biotics choosing Reave and I just can't get into the Adept. Nothing against the class, it's just since it's so power dependent, I can't stand playing it on my 360 since it requires me to pause more than I'd like.

The one change I'd like to see in slam is to have Heavy Slam be replaced with Crippling Slam so there can be an AoE version.

THe reason why you say that a Vangaurd can finish a level faster than an infliltrator is that vanguards dive headon into combat. SInce you are exposed from cover, to survive you must quickly eliminate enemy forces. Also, charging instantly to up to 40 metres away is a lot faster than walking.
Vanguards require quick thinking, whilst with infiltrator, you aren't in as much pressure as a vanguard, you can line up shots, plan out your assualt and not eliminate 7 people in 3 seconds to avoid death, hence combat is much more drawn out when your not using the vanguard class.

Necro'd!

Vanguard is one of the best for waves of basic enemies. It is weak against bosses. It is also relatively weak against mini-bosses unless you take a certain broken bonus power.

None of the classes are really "overpowered" unless you add on certain DLC powers or weapons. Which is really a fault of those items rather than class design.

Vanguard is the worst if you're not familiar with the maps IMO. For sub-sequent play throughs it might be great though. The game is full of unpleasant surprises and frustration with a vanguard, you die more than any other class due to an unreliable - or maybe just hard to judge? - ability.

Also, it has limited ranged options, which is a big PITA early on before you've got heavy charge and potentially additional weapon training.  I also think Vanguard gets the worst starting options for players w/out DLC. The katana is balls, and the Eviscerator(DLC) is one of the best options. Even the scimitar you have to get past a certain point before you can grab.

Hands down the worst experience I think you can have in ME2 is playing the Vanguard on a fresh game as a new player/someone who hasn't played in awhile.

That doesn't mean it's bad, just trying to give a perspective and maybe shed some light on why many people may dismiss the vanguard.

I personally think the vanguard playstyle and special ability are probably the most fun in the game however, once you've got the hang of them. My infiltrator experience was pretty boring in comparison. That or I'm being nostalgic about my first playthrough or two back when ME2 was released.
