Probably a futile request, but no more Claudia Black please!

The thing is that almost anyone from the VA Cast has experience as a voice actor, simply because most movies today are dubbed over in post-production as noise during filming sometimes makes their voices completely inaudible.
So, most of them are "trained professionals" so to speak, and it shows.
I have heard what unprofessional VA's can do to a game, particularly when the spoken Language is NOT the native one of the person speaking.
I guess it's all a matter of taste though.

Something that was completely unnecessary for Black's representation of Xen. The main thing that doesn't make sense to me, even though I didn't realize it when I wrote my OP is that since Black did such awesome voices for other characters like the bartender on Illium, I would have expected her to do an unrecognizable voice for Xen. Playing DAO and then playing ME2 in such a short time and immediately recognizing her voice because there was no inflection work on her part for Xen and Morrigan just completely makes me go "oh look Space Morrigan"

Voiceactors should at least try to use a different voice in different games. Sometimes they are {i]too[/i] recognizable. Like the obvious Nolan North but Jen Taylor is also a good example. It does break immersion for me.
Michael Dorn too, btw, he'll always be Worf to me.
Why should they do different voices in different games? Unless the character requires a determined voice there isn't really any reason to do it. Morrigan doesn't exist in ME universe, so Xen doesn't have the same voice as any other ME character. Would you want to actors to change appearence to the point of not being recognized in every movie? It's a different setting, nothing wrong is using actors that aren't still in it.
In the same game I'm all for changing the voice if the same voice actor does different characters. Actually I would say it's a requirement unless the other characteres are clones or something...

Again: you were very likely expected to notice that. Do you really think it's a coincidence that the three admirals with a vote are Morrigan, Logain, and Avernus?

So I have no problem with Space Morrigan.

With CGI and green screen tech being used more often, the once fringe actors in those genres are beginning to get more work, as those shows relied heavily on people being able to respond believably to stimulli that didnt actually exist on set.
So is it any wonder why the same names crop up time and again doing scifi and games work? Gamers, and game devs, are a loyal breed. Do fine work on a project, and you will be rewarded with more contracts.

I personally don't mind hearing the same voice actor, but I think it's bad when they use the same voice. An example of a good voice actor, imo, is Fred Tatasciore. He did the voice of Saren in Mass Effect and the voice of Mario in Assassin's Creed. To me, I could not tell that they were the same.

But then let's take Jennifer Hale, who seems to make an effort to change up her performance from game to game.
There's also the problem of VAs who have major roles in one game, but a minor role in another. Take the guy who played Loghain for example. He plays one of the quarian admirals, but since his role is so small, he really makes no effort to change up his voice to really do a new character. Vice-versa, Zaeed's actor has a minor role in DA:O as Murdock, and there's really no difference there either.

It was bad enough trying to adapt to the Illusive Man and stop imagining Martin Sheen even with my eyes wide open whenever he talked in game.
Might be nit picking I know, but aside from the glowing blue eyes The Illusive Man does look like Martin Sheen.

I haven't actually seen many things with Martin Scheen so I didn't have too much trouble. Watching more of his stuff however, I see how many people couldn't adjust and just accept him as the Illusive Man.

You think Claudia Black is Jarring? How about Steve Blum portraying like 30 different characters in every single game ever made. Or Martin Sheen. Or Jennifer "Naomi" Hale. Or Seth Green FFS!
