I don’t think so.If he dies,it will be more emotional, more convincing and EA won’t be able to exploit him. What do you think?

I think you should have a choice. Maybe in some scenarios sacrifice should be the only way to destroy the Reapers. Maybe a character you could kill, but didn't, could do it.

Mos def.

Or, he could survive and, knowing nothing in his life will live up to his confrontation with the Reapers, commit suicide/become a drunken recluse.

I hope not - otherwise he wouldn't be able to cameo in ME 4,5 and 6 ;)

It should play out the same way as DA:O, where you have the option to choose between a bunch of different stuff at the end, including an Ultimate Sacrifice of your own.

I'll agree with this.

Should Shepard survive ME3?

In my canon playthrough, yes.

In theory and my playthrough - he will.

In practice - he won't.

The possibility should exist, but only if it's optional. I'd hate it if any Shepard death were to be mandatory, and unavoidable. Surely a happy ending isn't too much to ask for, right?

Having said that, Shepard has already died once. The emotional impact of a second death has now been somewhat reduced, and it would not carry the weight that such a tragic occurrence should do.

Shepard should die so there is no more artificial prolonging of his/her story.

Going down with a bang would be cool.

But I'd bet it will actually be a lot harder to die than survive (just like ME2).

I don't want to have all the epicness and drama to be just for a heroic sacrifice. I have seen it plenty of times before.

If Shepard dies in the end, I ques that would mean no DLC for ME3. Hard to play them with dead person.

I'll agree with this.

Perhaps you are right. And perhaps saving/destroying Collector base will have impact on that,I don’t know.I just know that ME2 ending was much more epic with Shepard dead.

I don't want Shepard to die! She (or he) deserves to be happy! :)

On the other hand savior of the galaxy should have his/her purpose.

But I'll be happy if there will be a choice. Like in Dragon Age where the main character could survive or not after the battle with the Archidemon. :)

Anything can be epic as long as it is executed well. For me, the ME2 ending with Shepard's death was more along the lines of "lulz, epic fail!" (less the Joker-TIM scenes). I don't want that in ME3; if they are to include an Ultimate Sacrifice in ME3, which I'm sure they will, it should be so emotionally engaging that it forces tears out of your eyes. This is your Shepard; you've played all the way through three different games and now you're watching them extremely desperate and facing a death situation that must be proceeded with. That wasn't the case with ME2's death scene. Not even remotely close, if you ask me.

Put it simply, Shepard's death in ME3 should be literally heroic and should not go in vain. I know BioWare can do it.

There should be the ending where Shepard lives as well as where he/she is dead. All based on decisisons made throughout ME1, ME2 and ME3.

I said this once in a similar thread before, but I'll say it again.

Shepard already died. Having her die again is less emotional by default because of it.

Multiple endings of ME3 would be good, one ending with Shepard sacrifising himself to stop the reapers, one paragon ending with a Shepard who becomes the head of the terran military or who follows Anderson as the human counsel-member, and one renegade ending with a Shepard who becomes the new illusive man.

If he survives, he should be battered beyond reason. I'm talking disfigured and half-retarded, like Dark Man.

After all he went through I think he should survive and appear in the next "Asari Confessions".

Like i said in another thread, i'm tired of all this epic story having the hero die in the end, they became countless and pure cliché.

It's like the writers have no guts at all and can't take responsability for the heroic act accomplished by the hero, and anyway what could be done after you save the whole galaxy..... let's make the hero die at the pic of his accomplishement and glory, so he will appear like a legend ... i'm so tired of this kind of ****ty easy escape.

Plus, it would kill the mood for the replayability (wich is one of the best side of ME1 and ME2) for maaaaaany players.

And... spending 4 years to enjoy playing with a character that wouldn't live at the end of the story? ah damn.... Hey Shepard! don't bother desarm the nuke on eden prim and die already, it will save you 4 years of wasting your time.

If Shepard had to die, it should be a choice of sacrifice, for people who think it would be the best ending, not a ablogation, it would seriously kill the mood to strat a new game...

Well...if he survives...Shep could always run with Zaeed's retirement plan in buying out a ship filled with explosives outside Omega and.....yeah.

BUT....I think he should die. It would be so fitting in my eyes.
