Did Flemith have a makeover? I find this humorous.

Along with lots of other twaddle, you've said this before, but I still fail to see how the visual change of the game has anything to do with the writing abilties of David Gaider and his team.Cobrawar wrote...

LOL They all have the body of young twenty somethings
Flemeth is more likely to actually be twenty (what with the grab-new-body tactics and all) but I still expect to see old women with perfect figures and no signs of age whatsoever.

What have you done, Bioware.
I also demand that ladies continue to walk like weird apes. It destroys my immersion and is a clear retcon of established lore when Morrigan doesn't lumber around like a skinny, hot primate.

I, too, hate it when things that look bad are redesigned to look better. I personally am literally incapable of recognizing these creatures as Darkspawn, and upon being told that they were, I fainted dead away in shock and distress.

I read The Calling and there were quite a few inconsistencies in the details of many areas compared to how they looked in the actual game. The Circle Tower and Deep Roads were described especially differently.
The Architect was also supposed to look like a Disciple, more like a regular Hurlock. Actually, pretty much everything about the Architect was retconned in Awakening besides his development with Utha.
There's obviously little respect for visual continuity but that's just something we're going to have to accept. Gaider's comments make that quite clear.

Flemeth's new appearance isn't so odd. She is a shapeshifter. But there definitely are some issues, though.

I think, from my perspective, the entire visual element of the game has been re-envisioned... and you want to tell me that the darkspawn teeth are where it breaks down for you? Really? Did someone fail to notice that the entire look of the rest of the game has also changed?
In that context, I don't mind that many things look different if all the changes are made at once. Barring another shift in the game's visual style I really doubt we'd be changing it again. And, really, so long as you can tell that a darkspawn is a darkspawn and a qunari is a qunari I don't see the big deal... especially if it makes things look better on the whole, which I think they do. Flemeth in particular looks awesome.
If someone wants to throw up a strawman that this means we'll have darkspawn using laser guns and suddenly nothing in the world makes any sense at all... well, knock yourself out. I think they're missing the forest for the trees, but that's hardly news around these parts.

think of comics books and different artists. Because George Perez, Alex Ross and Michael Turner all have different styles doesn't mean that when each of them drew Superman that it was a "different" Superman.
That's a writer thing.
And the DA2 writing corral is pretty much the DA:O bunch of people... so, really...
This isn't even as bad as a tv show or movie series that needs to replace one actor or actress for whatever reason.

We... think it looks better than the visuals in DAO?
Is that not obvious? I get that, in the absence of actually playing the game you might have already decided you don't agree, but I find this level of obtuseness a little baffling.

Well, it takes a lot of effort. And time. And money. I don't see the need for a complete redesign myself. I was very happy with DAO's visuals on the PC, and honestly, yes, the pictures released so far make me believe DAO looks better than DA2. Previews say otherwise, so I guess I'll just wait and watch. I don't see an overwhelming need to revamp everything though, not unless you had severe issues with the last scheme.
