I never noticed friendly fire in ME2, and I'm often right in the middle of all area effects powers from squadmates when playing a vanguard. And inferno rounds would be useless if that was the case.

EDIT: Squadmates acknowledge friendly fire but don't receive damage also. I unloaded 15 evicescerator shots on Miranda's head earlier today after she made me get killed for the 4th time in a row due to not following orders and she complained but stayed alive.

But there is in ME2, at least isn't that why everyone says no to Heavy Disruptor on shotguns?

Yeah, but that is caused by (geth) enemies exploding, not the ammo itself. I imagine explosive rounds would not explode enemy (at least not organics) but rather explode on impact and toss enemies far away, just like in ME1.

If FF was on then Inferno ammo in ME2 should set Shepard on fire, but that is not the case..

LOL, I have had similar feelings towards squadies at times :D and I always (accidentally) shoot Legion a couple times - on Geth Missions :)

I reckon only Cain can cause friendly fire. Even a Dominated enemy Pyro's fire stream doesn't affect Shep & Co (haven't tested Rocket Troopers though).

Oh cryo, without a doubt. The freezing and shattering effect is nice eye candy.

Edit: ME1, high explosive. Much amusement to be had!

Last night, while playing Vanguard on Legion's LM, some of the hacked turrets ended up shooting me in the back.

I pretty much swear by Tungsten Ammo on my Infiltrator and even on other classes. The damage boost is psychotic. I can strip the armor from a YMIR Mech in a single burst.

The damage boost is highly overrated. It is based on the weapon base damage. After you have weapon damage upgrades, your passive ability giving +weapon damage, the weapon bonus against defenses, 2x bonus damage from rag-doll (from Pull/Singularity/Frozen/Neural Shock, ...), possibly Infiltrator Cloak or Soldier Adrenaline Rush, the damage contribution from an ammo power is generally pretty modest (the ammo power doesn't benefit from any of these).

Anything that offers crowd control is great (Cryo, Incendiary, Disruptor Ammo).

Sledgehammer rounds in ME1.

In ME2 its either Inferno ammo or Squad cryo depending on the class, mission, and what gameplay style I'm using.

There is no firendly fire in ME (Flashbang, Inferno Ammo etc.) so it would be fine :D

Wrong. Its possible to get yourself killed with the cain.

Well, Cain has nothing to do with ammo or other powers, but anyway. You can kill yourself with Cain, but Inferno ammo is not gonna set you on fire, Your/Kasumi's Flashbang does not affect you etc.
Explosive ammo would be no different.

In terms of use, I like Disruptor & Cryo the most for their CC (everyone seems to forget that Disruptor ammo overheats all weapons).

In terms of fun, I'd say Inferno's way up there, with its crazy explosions and all that.

You can flashbang yourself as well.

Good to know, never happened to me, but then again, I have not used Flashbang very much (I simply do not like the power). But the point still stands, Explosive ammo wouldn't necessarily result in Shepard's death when used in close combat.

I don't use them much. Aside from the "I'm seeing all white" thing, what happens ? Do you get staggered ? That would be bad...

Yes, if you throw FB grenade against a wall and grenade is in front of you (for example) - you get staggered (like when enemies use FB on you). I never had issues using Kasumi's though.

It depends on class, companions and mission, but generally speaking it is either warp ammo or incendiary ammo.

ME1: For me, sledgehammer ammo. For squadmates with ARs, HE ammo.

ME2: Inferno ammo. Never gets old.

Inferno ammo is pretty easily my favorite for Shepard, and Cryo for squad mates.

For classes other than Soldier and Vanguard, it's probably a toss up between Warp ammo and squad Incendiary ammo from one of my squad mates. I've never really used AP ammo.

For ME1, my favorite ammo is probably Inferno because it keeps enemies from regenerating and I can get by without having to swap out my ammo for any given mission. Sledgehammer rounds are my second favorite. It's just too much trouble for me to switch myself and all my squad mates between Tungsten and Shredder ammo depending on the enemies. And, while it may lower me in some folks regards (and the fact that I don't particulary care should be evidenced by the fact that I'm still posting this), it's a lot easier to manage the ME1 inventory if you just sell or convert anything without an "X" next to it.

I usually use Inferno. Sometimes Warp and I barely use cryo.
