There is no overkill. In case of dakka: just "start" firing" and "time to reload". In case of 300M (Kronner will get it): just too little targets for the appropriate gun.
At the very end of the extreme, there is only immodesty, but never overkill. After all, the only way to make sure something is dead is to make it cease to exist in every possible way. Since weapons do not tend to destroy the essence of existence itself, it is quite hard to kill things more than to make them dead, thus by definition outruling the term "overkill" as used by the common people and beyond.
And as for the friendly fire + Claymore with High Explosive rounds + Charge in yo face + Headsplat BOOM:
