Lets be honest here people, romances are sappy. And the only reason we like em is cause they boil down to sex.

actually......I'm more looking forward to some ramifications of the Isabela romance as opposed to just the sex....which you know is gonna happen, I mean, she IS Isabela

I don't see how femHawke having a kid in the middle of a war is all that bad.  It would be more interesting and unique to this sort of game.  People do have babies during wars in not only fiction, but real life.  I think it would be impossible to depict femHawke heavily pregnant, but before and after could make for an interesting story.  It is a RPG, it can't all be but we've got to get the magic sword/kill the dark lord/save the damsel etc.

great, now you've gone and reminded me of The Boss:crying:...

Yes, I do and have said this before.

Warden: "Man... I sure have to go out of my way just to recruit all these people to help fight a battle that threatens to KILL all of them..."

Chris: "Your telling me, I hope we don't run across any intrusive romance subplot while we're at it."

Morrigan/Leliana/Zevran/Alistair: "Did somebody say intrusive romance subplot?"

Chris: "Aw, Crap!"

Chris for companion! :bandit:

That would be AWSOME!

It would be interesting but not sure practically how you would do the customization of Mini-Me in the game.  Players would want to name the kid and customize its appearance, and that is just too much like those dumb exercises in home-ec class.

I would want it to be completely generic,  without many speaking rolls...  and it would have to get kidnapped constantly.   This would please me.

again.......if I had said something along those lines about my company's product and/or about my company's clients to or infront of our clients I'd either been written up or given a final. Ridiculous to some perhaps but true.

And I'd say asking those clients to keep it down to a dull roar so as not to scare away all the other clients is not so terrible, and in fact is exactly what you'd find in any business where said clients occasionally feel the need to act like orangutans.

Harmless orangutans in search of nothing more than a satisfying romance plot, sure, but scary to regular folk nevertheless. ;)

so let me get this straight....you and/or Bioware at large do not see anythinng wrong with this kind of comment made to the public by someone in your own company who is supposed to work in a field similar to PR/CR?

Assuming you all can survive the deadly blow to your egos, of course not. You're not "the public" like some unaware customer who just wandered in here off the street. You're those punk kids who hang out every afternoon in the 7-11 reading all the magazines like you own the place.

If someone tells you to keep it to a dull roar every once in a while, I imagine you'll deal. Posted Image

Best post in this tread so far :D

Hey, Orangutans are perfectly adjusted people and very good clients. Just ask at The Mended Drum.

how to explain this without revealing which company I work for......

ok, my company actually "encourages" clients talking to one another as much as they can about our product/service in all its ways, shapes, forms or parts. Short of a client pulling a knife on someone all we are allowed to do is nod and smile no matter how moronic, repetitive, dull or simian they seem to us.

then again my company is not known for its logical prowess

If it were my choice I wouldn't do any customisation.  It would feel like too much of a break out of the narrative and like you were back at your own character creation.  Just have it as either preset or random.  The point of the child would be more about an emotional connection and subplot.

You two should watch Mad Men. Sample quote:

"You know what my father used to say? 'Being with a client is like being in a marriage. Sometimes you get into it for the wrong reasons, and eventually they hit you in the face.'

I prefer the devs who post here to... uh, be themselves (as cliche' as that sounds).  Not act like marketing bots for EA and BioWare.

well, so would some of my clients prefer me to speak my mind but then I'd be out of a job. And that is why I feel for the Devs because I know what they must go through

I for one enjoy how hostile BioWare staff have become with the posters on this forum. I eagerly await the next flame war triggered by a staffer lashing out as he becomes increasingly more exasperated with the fanbase.
