Short of a client pulling a knife on someone all we are allowed to do is nod and smile no matter how moronic, repetitive, dull or simian they seem to us.

Sorry about your life, I guess. :)

Jesus christ dude, petty insults at your fanbase?

It wasn't an insult, Gaider is genuinely apologizing for that man and or woman's life.

People who live in glass houses writing fantasy fiction shouldn't throw stones.

This thread has been taken over by BioWare users, I think.  That was just page one...

As for romance, no clue from me, since I need more confirmations.

Big Blue Car sees petty insult, I see tongue-in-cheek acknowledgment of relative difficulty or hardship.

Dave you know I'm a guy

Big Blue Car, it was not an insult, it was not taken as such....but....thank you. Honestly.

I didn't see who Gaider responded to, so I was making a blind assumption because I was too lazy to press the previous page button.

good lord, in just the past few days I have seen the devs criticized for being opinionless EA shills who only repeat marketing lines. And now they are criticized for expressing personal opinions. In a community this large, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. There is nothing that won't be complained about by some percentage of the BSN. I have to applaud the devs for knowingly and willingly walking into the insatiable ****storm that is BSN.

You're setting yourself up for huge disappointment with thinking like this.

Indeed, they're terribly unlikley to base the decision on what people are asking for. Recipe for disaster.

I'd much rather have fewer and better than a large group.  Ones you could influence for good are bad would be ok with me if the character is deep.

Romance or no romance, BioWare games are still the best games out there.

Besides, there is always FFN and dA [giggle]

well, so would some of my clients prefer me to speak my mind but then I'd be out of a job. And that is why I feel for the Devs because I know what they must go through

I'm sure the devs are conscious of what they write, but do you reeeallly think the suits are going to fire someone because the natives are restless in the forum?  That is the definition of the forum.

Of course they wouldn't have to feel the need to censor themselves if people didn't wig out about every little thing.

depends on how far the pole is up their collective rectum.......

the devs should not censor themselves, for that matter tho neither should marketing  have so much hold over them but we both know it is not gonna change

Mind boggling that people who work for game companies are constantly being challegned for toeing the company line, lieing, not telling the truth, hiding facts blah blah blah. Then on one issue at one time an employee merely states he doesn't prefer the romance part of games and people are tossing mud at him? Astounding.

Just one more bit of proof that you absolutely can't win when dealing with a large communtiy and one more reason that the BioWare community guys and employees that come on the forums to talk about the game deserve freaking medals.

+1   You get a cookie!

I think it is refreshing that so many devs and writers come on here to post and share their thoughts without marketing shill.  Even though I have already preordered DA2...I think I will now buy a second one just based off this thread!  Posted Image

Bioware is fueled by your delicious tears

One of Bioware's founders(Ray murka- merik-... The tall one) is senior vice president of EA, and EA owns a massive porsion of the game industry, so to say "I'm never buying a Bioware game because of chris" will leave you with very few games to play

Holy moly. I've been away from this forum for a couple of weeks, having previously enjoyed hanging around/lurking/posting a little in anticipation of DAII, but this thread takes the soggy cake that Dog dug up.

The endless nitpicking and utter, utter humourlessness is doing my head in. :(
